We had a family meeting in the guest house on the Pentecost weekend and despite the high level of sickness among the staff, solutions were always found for us. The rooms and lounges were well equipped with really good beds and cozy seating areas. The house is located in a beautiful village and the roof terrace offers a great view. There are also some options for leisure activities. Unfortunately, the catering food was not good in terms of price/performance ratio. We recommend that you cater for yourself, as the kitchen has everything you need. Overall a family friendly accommodation.

This year we stayed in the guest house with friends for Pentecost. The rooms, the lounges, the house itself were very nice, and we were very happy to see each other again,Unfortunately there was a problem with the serviceWe clarified this over the phone when we got back home. The conversation was very friendly and the problem was probably due to an acute shortage of staff due to illness. The management has apologized and now wants to accommodate us financiallyThat's ok for us then.Dorothee Henkel

We were there for a family friends meeting over Whitsun 24. We were welcomed by a nice “caretaker?” who unfortunately spoke little German and conversations in English often led to misunderstandings. The room was nicely furnished, the beds were comfortable, the house was very quiet and several groups didn't get in each other's way.On the first evening, the warm buffet that was delivered was set up, according to general opinion, equivalent to an average canteen meal at the hefty price of €29. Dinner was eaten in the large dining room on wooden tables without tablecloths, and we had to get dishes and cutlery out of the cupboards ourselves.Apart from the above-mentioned employees responsible for everything, none of the employees were present during these days, despite the house being occupied by several groups. After dinner, we had to wash and put away the dishes, on the first evening in the dishwasher line of the commercial kitchen, and on the following evenings in the household dishwasher in several stages in the dining room. After the meal the tables had to be wiped down. The memory of the visit to the Italian restaurant involuntarily came to mind: for that amount I would have gotten something “tasty” and wouldn’t even have had to do the washing up.The breakfast was also not worth the quoted price of €15. It should also be mentioned that these prices are already available for children aged 12 and over.Things didn't get any better on the following days.At the end of the stay, the beds had to be removed, bed linen should preferably be brought along, the rubbish bins had to be emptied and the room had to be left swept clean. For a room price of €100/day and final cleaning of €29, that's not a good price/performance ratio either. We had to do the final cleaning of a hallway ourselves because no staff was available after we left. After all, the fee that had already been paid should still be refunded. It was nice to see old friends again - we'll be planning somewhere else next year!

The accommodation left an unsanitary impression as the room was dusty and dirty when we arrived. The bedding appeared worn and unkempt, which made the stay unpleasant. Although it was claimed that the rooms had been renovated, the atmosphere gave the impression that a guest had just moved out without any cleaning. The gastronomic offering was not only completely overpriced, but also of inferior quality. The food was cold and more reminiscent of canteen food than sophisticated hotel cuisine. The fact that guests had to alternate dining in the hall or in the living area caused inconvenience as plates and drinks had to be carried throughout the hotel. Furthermore, it was incomprehensible that guests had to wash their own dishes, especially given the high prices. At this price level one could have expected better selection and quality as well as adequate service, which unfortunately was not the case. Given this experience, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Winterberg guesthouse and we are very impressed. The next vacation is booked and we'll always be happy to come back. Keep it up. A great team and very nice accommodation.

Actually a group accommodation, but booked a double room, good room and nice bed. Nice bathroom, separate kitchen and living room for shared use. Parking was an issue, but that is being worked on. New managers who beautify and optimize the location. That process will take some time. Will definitely come here again.

We were there with our dance training group and I was very impressed by the great, reserved atmosphere in the house. I particularly liked the furnishing style...this casual furniture combination as we know it from NL and the color accents with turquoise (somewhat Motel one style). Everything is so calm and friendly.Lovingly arranged breakfast and the great landscape.Immediately again!!! Five star rating definitely!!

Had a wonderful time with the family (16 people). Close to the Winterberg ski area. Excellent, beautiful bedrooms with neat shower facilities and a cozy common room for playing games, etc. We had booked breakfast for the entire group and that was also well taken care of. Managers very accessible and friendly.
