The hut for me for a break in nature, digital detox - without cell phone reception. Very friendly staff and good hut food!

The Reiteralpe is really beautiful and has varied terrain. I stayed at the Neue Traunsteiner Hütte for three nights with five other DAV members. The staff is very friendly and helpful.In my opinion, the breakfast was very sparse for the very high price. It was not refilled without being asked. Everything was very tight and unfortunately no fruit either. Apples or bananas might be possible. Dinner was mostly fine.What is not possible, however, is to lock the washrooms and only open them at 5 p.m. We couldn't even get to the sink after a long tour. When it opens at 5 p.m., it's logical that everyone rushes there and there's a traffic jam. We even wanted to take a cold shower or at least wash ourselves at the sink. That doesn't work at all!!!The double rooms are spartan, but that's okay.

We went on a tour in the Alps with my dad for 2 days after a long time. Was a nice tour. Quieter like many other areas.We spent the night in the hut. Service. Hospitality was 🔝 Had a room for 2 which was very comfortable. The view from the hut is fantastic of the surrounding mountains. The food was also great. Our own cake, bread and vegetable lasagna in the evening for me as a vegetarian was great.

Innkeepers are very friendly, prices are a bit expensive but still reasonable.I don't find food particularly appealing. I had a cheese dumpling soup and the dumpling just tasted like dough.The chocolate cake for dessert was unfortunately also very, very dry.

By climbing the Reiter Alpe and spending the night in the hut, the wish of a non-alpinist came true. Helicopter hut therefore prices are reasonable, there is another way (see review Wasseralm). Friendly hosts and staff, location appealing!

Rooms were okay. Breakfast was good. The dinner alone was a little meager, but it was also relatively late. Very nice landlady.

5 stars for the NTH!The host and waiter were all very friendly and the food was perfect! Large breakfast selection with cheese and sausage platters, yoghurt, muesli —> everything a mountaineer's heart needs.The midsummer fire was planned for June 22nd, 2024 - there was some hearty tavern music playing in the dining room —> big praise to the 3 musicians, also very, very friendly people who have mastered their musical craft to perfection! Keep it up everyone!!!!The location of the hut is very quiet, surrounded by Murmis and Kuhlis and a fantastic view.NTH: I'll be back 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

We had an exclusive stay at the Traunsteiner Hütte with three hikers in rainy weather. Warm welcome, nice hut hosts, good food and lots of fun with the snuff machine.😁😊

**→ 5*** After a long arduous trek, we arrived to the Neue Traunsteiner Hutte in the nick of time; just as the sun was setting. The staff were super friendly, and even called us before we arrived to let us know that the kitchen was closing and asked if we’d like some food for when we arrived. They also provide vegan food options, which is a huge plus. We didn’t think to bring our own towels and the hut generally doesn’t provide them, but one of the staff managed to find us a (clean) spare. Remember to bring your own towel and sleeping bagThe premises was very rustic and isolated however despite this (and the fact it was early September) the place had a great ambience with numerous families and individuals of all ages enjoying each others company. The room was basic but comfy, especially considering how remote it was. The views were absolutely breath-taking! The prices for the room and food were not cheap, but very reasonable for such an isolated area. You will also need to pay for warm water showers (which cost 2 euros and close at 21:00), and there aren’t any plug sockets so remember to bring some battery packs. It’s a slight inconvenience to have to pay with cash but again not very surprising considering how remote it was. There was also no phone signal in or around the hut, but for us it was a nice way to force ourselves to get off the internet.Breakfast was not included.

The positive first: fantastic location, very friendly staff and decent cuisine.BUT: We were assigned a room for two for a whopping 84.00 euros in a shack with greasy plywood walls, a floor that had not been cleaned for a long time, including a trampled spider and a completely dusty ventilation system, the only furniture of which was a 1.80 m short bunk bed. This had little in common with the rooms shown on the homepage. Not only did one look in vain for a socket to charge the GPS device in the room, the one in the guest room was covered with adhesive tape so that, to quote the quote, "people don't have to charge their cell phones". Since you can hear every noise from the neighbors through the plywood walls and our room (No. 4) was right next to the creaking wooden stairs to the only toilet accessible at night, sleep was almost impossible due to the lack of ear plugs.No offense, but that is a price-performance ratio that cannot be explained even at 1,500 m altitude. And this has nothing to do with the romanticism of the hut or the rustic charm that we have experienced in all the other Alpine club huts so far.

We stayed in the hut for one night and felt totally comfortable. Jessi and Udo and the entire staff are really friendly, the environment is a dream and the hut is really nice and offers everything you need (even showers). A very nice place if you want to switch off from everyday life!

The shared room was very small, but completely sufficient. A unique view. Room was clean. Sufficient toilets etc. available. Food and drink a bit expensive, but if you take into account how the things have to be transported, it's completely ok.

A nice and clean cabin with good standards, good cuisine and friendly staff.When I arrived at the hut late in the evening, exhausted after the second day of my hiking tour, they without hesitation offered me a good room for another night and, despite the late hour, something to drink and cake to eat - something that wasn't a given either.The only problem is that there is unfortunately no network on the entire Reiter Alpe (and therefore also in this hut) and unfortunately there is no WiFi available either.Still 5 stars and thank you for the lovely stay.
