Room was in good order. The hotel is quietly located with a beautiful panorama. What a service! Nothing was too much to ask. The owner has and provides a lot of information about possible walks.Every evening we enjoyed a varied and very delicious dinner! Kudos to the chef! There was also plenty of choice at breakfast. From the village to the hotel is a very steep climb.

For the second time this year I went on a fasting hike at the Hotel Ritschlay. I will come again next year. The hotel is actually getting old, but with good will you can overlook the outdated hotel and devote yourself entirely to the fantastic nature and the loving, family, professional Lenten care. If you look at the outdated hotel in a positive way, you will see Heinz Ehrhard coming around the corner with his saying "what a rogue I am again" on his lips and your mood will rise again.Kind regards, Michael Schmiedel from Solingen

Price-performance ratio doesn't fit here at all.Old musty room, not very clean. At breakfast there were counted rolls. When we asked for another roll, we were told there was enough bread. The only employees are probably mother and son. They were nice. But unfortunately a bit operationally blind...The hotel urgently needs renovation. Nothing fits here for €120 or €144 per night.

We were here for 1 week. When we arrived there was no one there. Door locked and only AB on.During that time we had a lot of time to look at what was once!!!! Look at a piece of jewelry. We would actually have loved to go there. When we were let in, we were greeted by a disgusting musty smell. Apart from the tattered carpets, it took some getting used to here.At first glance, the room was large and bright (the antique furniture is a matter of taste, but you can look after it too). At second glance, it was dirty and shabby (broken hooks, mold on the shower, a bathroom stool that belongs in the museum, a toilet lid that doesn't fit). We slept well in the bed, but the nasal spray and asthma spray were in constant use at night (old carpet!!!) Those were the first noticeable things!!!The big fly on the ancient carpet accompanied us until the last day of our vacation; visible to everyone who came into the room. Bathroom wasn't cleaned! We decided not to eat because of our first impression. But there was only 1 meal. No choice. The breakfast was very meager. You had to cook your own scrambled eggs on the small plate. Boiled egg came from the kitchen. Cold cuts were not fresh and totally counted!! Strawberry jam has probably been in the pot for a while. Coffee.....without comment (2 cups) and then possibly 1 cup upon request....if someone was there). The table was dirty and sticky, as was the floor.Overall, this house and garden are in dire need of renovation and also require decent staff (yes, we know that the signs about staff are everywhere, but not here!).Positive:The house benefits from its excellent location and tranquility. Conclusion:Our vacation was an involuntary journey through time and the stars are definitely no longer justified!!!The photos on the internet are no longer up to date.

Good location to stay for hikers. Friendly people, very hospitable, nice spacious room with good beds. There is plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner is what is on the menu but very tasty. We came to walk the Mullertall but we need several days so we will definitely come back again

The rooms were clean but everything was very old, the breakfast was really not good for the price of the room! No choice, just baked cheap rolls and scrambled eggs, without bacon or fresh herbs, which you had to make yourself. All in all, a renovation is overdue! The prices are clearly set too high and are disproportionate to the offer.
