I spent 2 nights here in a 2-bedded room. This hostel is very clean and well-maintained. I am always very sensitive about bed sheets and usually bring my own, but in this hostel, I didn't even need to use them because it was so clean. The staff are incredibly nice. The atmosphere feels like home because it's really cozy. The food is acceptable. The conference room with the piano (😍) is also a great place for gatherings if you visit with a big group. Outside the building, you can play volleyball or table tennis, and you can also set up a campfire in a sheltered area and enjoy the night sky and stars because there's less light pollution. I really liked this place and made wonderful memories with my friends.

The rooms are very spacious and there are all types from single rooms to rooms for 6 people. The location at the foot of Lake Guckai is in the middle of the Rhön and is ideal for hiking. In winter, autumn and spring the paths are often very muddy, but this can be tolerated. In half an hour to three quarters of an hour you can reach the city center of Fulda, where you can also experience a lot. The Rodholz youth hostel is mainly used by groups, so you have to be prepared for a fluctuating noise level, although great attention is paid to cleanliness in the house. The hallways are cleaned daily and you are not allowed to wear street shoes in the house. There is a separate drying and games room with a shoe rack and coat hooks, as well as a table football table. Above the main house there is a barn and a volleyball court as well as a large lawn for playing.

I always enjoy coming here. We spend a weekend here every year with our communion children. The house has 2, 4, 6 and 8-bed rooms on the upper floors, which can only be reached by stairs.On the ground floor there are 2 large group rooms and 2 dining rooms. In the hallway, food is set up as a buffet from the in-house kitchen for 3 meals a day. The food is simple, but consistently tasty and completely sufficient. There is also tea and coffee (plus hot milk for breakfast (for cereal and/or cocoa).Before the meal, the kitchen staff set up a place setting, which the group then has to “recreate” for all participants. Everyone is also responsible for clearing the tables. Appropriate trolleys are available for this purpose and the kitchen staff will do the washing up.On the ground floor there is also a drinks machine (please bring change) and a table football table (free of charge).In terms of location, it is somewhat remote. The Guckaisee can be reached quickly on foot. The Wasserkuppe can also be reached on foot from here. Next to the DJO there is also the “Heckenhöfchen” restaurant. There are shopping and refreshment options in Poppenhausen or Gersfeld. But you will need a car or it will be a longer hike.The staff is consistently friendly and helpful.

Before I publish a review here, I would like to say right away that I often pick up guests there simply as a coach driver.Very scenic location, good starting point for hikes, very friendly staff. So far all guests have been very satisfied, so I would say it is a very nice accommodation for groups of guests.

Fabulous group accommodation, I have been coming here twice a year with students for several years. We are always warmly welcomed by the team and given excellent care. The location is wonderful for hiking and the house is suitable for many activities. The food is very good and the employees find a solution to every problem. Big praise to the home management and a clear recommendation for anyone looking for well-run group accommodation in the countryside.

I go to the djo every year with a larger group and it's always great! The food is amazing and above all I can recommend the carrot bread and the herb quark :) the rooms are simple but absolutely sufficient, the beds are in good condition so not laid out or scribbled on. The local people are all friendly and accommodating. It's a pleasure for me every time :)
