Small and expensive for what you pay. We only stayed the one night. I slept well but I think over a few nights the bed may of become a problem. The room had one old wooden stool to sit on and a soft seat. One of the smallest TV’s i have ever seen in a hotel/guest room. The bathroom has in a very small area with, a toilet, a very small wash basen (just big enough for my hands) and small shower area. The breakfast was a complete let down, when I am paying hotel prices I expect a bit more that what was on offer. No service, every thing just laid out. Used Plates, knives and forks left on the table from the other guests. When it was laid out I am not sure but the meal timings are 08:00-10:00 and as I said we did not see any staff at all. Check my photos and decide for yourself.

Cyclist groupWe had planned for September 21st. booked. On August 15th received another confirmation. On September 21st No one available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Neither on site nor on the phone. To date no response. There was a trade fair in town and it was almost impossible to find other accommodation there. We were lucky that we got a hotel in Veltheim (8 km further). I advise everyone against booking at the Altstadtpension.

The mattresses are too old, so we couldn't sleep well. The breakfast was not what we had agreed upon. Since we were alone in the guest house, we called the person in charge to ask, but she didn't want to answer the phone: she sent us a text message saying that she didn't have time to make a phone call, we should only communicate with her via text message (!). In short: the guesthouse is far too expensive and not recommended at all.

For September 16th booked. On September 10th received another confirmation. On September 16th No one available from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Neither on site, by telephone or email. To date no response. There was a trade fair in town and we had to spend a lot of money looking for something else, which was almost no longer possible. I've never experienced anything like this in 35 years. I can only warn here...

Negative: Cobwebs on ceiling beams (bedroom and also in the breakfast hall). Free water bottle was no longer originally sealed but was subsequently refilled. Single room 1 very small, musty smell, poorly lit, very small TV.Positive: Location in the old town. Bicycles are safely stored. Conclusion: worst value for money on my bikepacking tour on the Weser cycle path

Simple and clean guesthouse, simple room furnishings; very good connection to the Weser cycle path.Rustic ambience, lovingly maintained, historic house; Inner courtyard with bike racks and charging options for e-bikes, as well as seating. Adequate self-service breakfast for the price in the oven-heated hallway. We (2 people) stayed for 4 nights. We missed a place to put our clothes. We'd love to come back.

I had a single room on the ground floor. The room was an okay size and the bathroom was modern. However, lighting the bathroom with a low-wattage energy-saving lamp was an imposition. It wasn't even enough to shave. The breakfast room is on the ground floor in the entrance area. The breakfast buffet was rather small. From my point of view, the price for single/fr should be a maximum of 50 euros. The location on the edge of the city center is good and if you want to go to the castle, the path is right outside the door.

We (two married couples) really liked it here. Nice simple rooms. The heating wasn't on when we arrived. But the landlord then turned it on and within 10 minutes the radiators were roaring. The next morning there was a good breakfast and a few more cycling tips.

Lovingly converted and furnished old town house with clean and modern rooms. Everything your heart desires is there. Delicious and rich breakfast. Very friendly host! Price-performance ratio totally fine! We'd love to come back!

The beds were uncomfortable, no closet, only 4 coat hooks that the towels also had to hang on to dry, and the shower couldn't be set to a reasonable temperature, either too cold or too hot. The heating was turned off in the evening. In addition, there is no possibility of making yourself a warm drink in the evening (many guesthouses offer their guests a kettle and coffee machine, perhaps even a microwave). The advertised bottle of water per stay isn't much use either. The breakfast was plentiful, but it didn't consist of fresh baked goods, just baked rolls. There was no butter, just low-fat margarine, and the eggs were rock hard.
