All in all, our stay with the Port family was very nice. However, upon arrival we found out that the studio we had actually booked was not available. We booked the studio by phone and received a written confirmation by email. Apparently there was an overlap with another booking, which was neither informed by email nor by telephone. When we arrived, we were simply assigned another 'room', which was not suitable for self-catering, as we had actually planned. Ms. Port tried to offer us alternative options. We decided to live in the studio we had actually booked for two days and then move into a holiday apartment, also owned by the Port family, so that we could continue to be self-sufficient. We had to make the compromise of leaving a day earlier than planned and booked. Despite the circumstances (moving + earlier departure), we felt comfortable, but we would have liked more insight and accommodation from the Port family, also because the double booking seemed to have been discovered early on.As further information, it might be interesting that it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the Standtkern/supermarket, but that didn't bother us.

This review refers to the holiday apartment on Wuppertalstr. 14 (industrial area).We rented the “Badstube” apartment from May 15th to May 25th, 2021.Short summary:Apartment facilities ok.Location industrial area with noise on the balcony.Staff enters the apartment without asking questions.Landlady unreasonable.The apartment is too expensive for the location.Accommodation at the Port holiday winery is not recommended!Apartment:The apartment including the kitchen is well equipped.The balcony has sun until around 1-2 p.m. in the morning.The house is located at the beginning of an industrial area and the balcony of the apartment faces the vineyards and industrial halls. Therefore a nice view from inside when the leaves of the tree are not yet out.Location:During the week it is very noisy on the balcony due to the noise (including a company's chimney) so that you cannot sit on the balcony in peace and chat.Contact:Ms. Port was very friendly at the beginning when we paid her the money for the 10 nights in advance. She only charged 9 nights for the spa card on the grounds that we couldn't do anything on the last day anyway.So far so nice.We paid €930 in cash and were promised €3 refund. However, we did not receive these back as discussed.Experiences during rental:Unfortunately, we were negatively surprised on May 22nd, 2021. All of a sudden a woman who was a stranger to us was standing in the apartment without a mask in the middle of the 3rd wave of the pandemic (probably was staff who belongs to the Port holiday apartment).She knocked, but we didn't want to be disturbed, so we didn't answer. The woman then simply went into our apartment for the first time with an apartment key that she had. I confronted this woman directly and expelled her from the apartment and told her that she should have announced herself. She explained that she just wanted to get a blanket.She then left the apartment without a blanket.Less than 5 minutes later she came into the apartment again without notice and against our will and took the blanket from a room (not rented by us and locked).Landlord's reaction:I then contacted Ms. Port. She was shocked but compensated for this as “everyone makes mistakes”. In addition, the woman who was in our apartment said that she thought that no one would be there and she could just go in like that.This statement and situation shocked us so much that we no longer felt comfortable.After careful consideration, we asked Ms. Port that we could leave earlier (on May 23rd) and that we would be reimbursed for the remaining 2 nights.Ms. Port didn't see this and said that we could leave but we wouldn't get any money back.—> You had never had anything like that before and accused us of wanting to leave because of the “bad weather” (note: good weather was forecast for the next two days).To be honest, we've never had anything like this before, where someone goes into our holiday apartment without asking!This lack of insight shocked us greatly.Conclusion:Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Port holiday winery and would even advise against renting accommodation here if the landlady lacks such insight.The apartment is ok, but too expensive given its location in the industrial area and distance from the city center. 60-70€ would be more appropriate here than 90€.

Very nice wine tasting with great food

The place met our expectations. Good hospitality. Very quiet and you can find the hustle and bustle yourself.Very clean and nice apartment with everything you need.Beautiful view of the mountains and the mosel.Good and tasty breakfast.A small downside is that the beds are soft and form a hole in the middle.

A very friendly, well-kept, intimate guesthouse. The owners take care of the guests' comfort every day. The breakfasts are varied and tasty, the rooms are clean and spacious. Your own terrace overlooking the river completes the whole. From the guesthouse there are two steps to the vineyards, from which there are amazing views of the Moselle and the town. Mr. and Mrs. Port are very friendly and hospitable hosts. Weingut Port is definitely a place worth recommending.
