We had a stress-free time at the Himmelpfort campsite. A warm welcome, clean facilities, great access to the lake and flat camping spot. The only downside were mosquitoes ;) There are device charging lockers available for free as well as fridge lockers (these are charged). There are benches to cook food and also an Italian restaurant on-site. You can do your small shopping in the reception and order Brötchen service for the following day. Not cheap for a 2 ppl tent & bikes (25€) but we really enjoyed our short stay.

This camping is pretty. A little bit too pretty! It's very well organised and everything has its place. It's lacking a bit of this laissez-faire that other campings have.Well, the bathrooms are clean, the food/restaurant on the camping is yummy (really good pizza! Even as leftover breakfast in the morning!), and there's isn't really much to complain about...this camping is great for families with kids, the lake is right there (super shallow btw). But it feels a bit like a holiday club. If you're looking for a bit more privacy and wilderness, you should go somewhere else.

What a beautiful place. Perfect on our bike trip with children. We had our tents near the lake shore. Bungalows for rent, space for mobile homes. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, fresh bread you can order the day before, in the morning. In theory, Kanus for rent- not possible yet when we went. Warm showers, kitchen and space to go inside for rainy times. Shallow water for long and the the funnest swimming island further in for the bigger kids. Still very shallow water.Little grocery shop nearby, small but sufficient. Visit to Santa's dependance in Germany ;-) where children write their letter to and even get a lovely reply...Former work and concentration camps close by. Part of history, also children should be taught about. All in all, a perfect camping site in a really lovely region worth a visit.

Beautiful camping site where you camp in front of a big lake. Paddles and canoodling to rent. Call first to verify if there is available space. Nice and friendly staff. Good italian restaurant, we ate a delicious pizza there.

We chose it based on the 4-5 star reviewschose this campsite and can only share this optimism to a limited extent. What you need to know is that everything has to be paid in cash. Better yet, the barrier only opens once you have paid the full price at reception. If you don't have enough cash, you and all the cars, caravans, etc. parked behind you have to turn around to get money from the next ATM.The location and the view of the lake are really beautiful and the operators also take very nice care of their guests. The restaurant at the front of the campsite had delicious pizzasOffer and friendly service. We had a pitch at the back of the campsite. The sanitary facilities on this part of the campsite consist of a shower in a container at the simplest level and a toilet block. You have to like that. You also have in this part of the campsiteno way to dispose of your rubbish. Conclusion:A campsite with potential and fantastic sunsets if important details such as sanitary facilities and waste disposal were taken better care of.From our perspective, the price-performance ratio is not right.

We stayed at the campsite for 5 nights and felt very comfortable right from the start! The man at reception was always friendly, helpful and open to a little chat. You could order freshly baked rolls every day for the next day - but eggs, coffee, drinks and other little things were also offered daily at the kiosk... highly recommended! We also praise the pizzeria for its delicious pizzas :)The sanitary facilities were always kept clean and what was a special plus - you didn't have to pay extra for the showers. All in all, a very successful short vacation, we would like to come back for a few days! ☺️ Very fair price-performance ratio!

We received a very friendly welcome and instructions as part of a bike tour. The beach is great and family friendly. For cyclists without kitchen utensils, there is a good pizzeria on site and coffee and rolls are offered for breakfast. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend the campsite.
