Beautiful scenery all round. Delicious food well arranged for Buffet. Clean water in the Schwimming area. In short, a quiet place for holidays and also can double up as a retreat place for prayer.

For those who hike Malerweg or any other way in the area - nice option. Don't look for luxury facilities for the price you pay, people. Breakfast was really nice 💯

The castle is very nicely located with nice views from the walls as well as from the room windows.Host lady very nice and speaking English (which for Germany, where nobody speaks English, is a big plus). Unfortunately the other lady (from a different shift - morning one) turns her back on the guests and does not even try to answer questions (asked in German). She makes it clear that foreigners are not welcome here. When asked why the bell rings from 04:00 to 04:30, she replied that it is always like that here.I would not recommend this place as a holiday destination.

Can’t rate the rooms as we didn’t stay overnight but just walked up to visit for the views and eat at the Biergarten. Lovely spot to visit for scenic views and the food was good. Excellent friendly service

There was an ant trail coming from outside directly through the bed, so we couldn't sleep. It was terrible. The staff ignored our complaint regarding this fact and also didn't apologize because of it or give an discount. …

Like a youth hostel, but within a huge building existing since the fourteenth century. Excellent views and all doors are open, to the castle garden, the tower and the historic museum. Prices are very reasonable. Four people one might with buffet breakfast and dinner 132 EUR. Including bed linen. All very well organised, clean and spacious. It was warm under the roof and the windows could not open far, clearly because they watch straight into the depths surrounding the castle. Breakfast buffet more than sufficient, included vegan pate. No options for vegan butter. Reasonable coffee, hot chocolate for the children. Coffee after dinner was much better quality. Vegan option for dinner available upon request and of a good quality. Got a noodle dish, pretty salty but tasteful and with some fresh salad a decent meal. Worth the hike and definitely a place to come back to.

Lovely stay in a medieval castle. Big room in Unteres Schloss with great view. Good hearty german food was what we needed after a day of hiking Malerweg. Staff was very friendly. Highlight of our stay in the national park. :-)
