Ladies and Gentlemenwe went to our 61st birthday for the second time! Wedding anniversary for three days with you in room 416 with the autumn arrangement.Your business leaves nothing to be desired in any respect. It's still "old school" - Messrs. Rytz and Escoffier look out from behind the old trees in the courtyard. Impressive people who work in their business, from the conciergerie to the service staff in the brasserie , the bar etc. are trained people. Beautiful large room. But few phone sockets for recharging. Original bathroom. Lots of noise in the street. Excellent idea to have coffee and tea in the hallway. Very well located. A little expensive for the lack of decoration in the room.

The hotel is very nice, the room is modern and stylishly furnished and was also extremely quiet (window facing the inner courtyard)Breakfast buffet was also of a high standard. However, we were a bit disappointed with the brasserie.The tables are too small for two people, the food was average at best except for the main course and the waiting time between courses was almost unreasonable. By the way: Our table neighbors had Wienerschnitzel with red cabbage and spaetzle??? Would like to know who came up with this creation.Apart from that, we really enjoyed our stay!Hansjörg and Brigitte Ennemoser

We are a family of 3 (2 adults + < 6mo baby), stayed between October 3-5, 2024.As some of you might have experienced, traveling with a small baby might ressemble to a group of circus. We must bring the pram and 2 luggages. However, the room is quite spacious for this type of travel. It’s clean and comes with complete amenities (vanity set, toiletries). Staff are all friendly and always willing to help. The location is perfect, very close to the old town with some shops, restaurants, and pharmacies around. If you are coming by car, there is also a parking space just next door (APCOA rebgasse), which comes with a discount from the hotel. On top of that, the breakfast was also excellent !The only several downsides for example: we found the room to be quite warm (room temperature didn’t go below 19.5), when we opened the window (the room windows face the courtyard), it can be quite busy. The floor is also quite cold, be mindful to bring bedroom sleepers with you (as it was not provided). The water and tea/coffee are not available in the room (but available on one spot for each floor). However, since I was there with a small baby and my husband was attending events during the day, it became cumbersome for me to go and fetch some water and/or coffee at any moment. As a side note, there was no fridge in a room. It’s not paramount, but if you are travelling with small kids and need to store some food, it could be something that you would like to discuss with the staff. Lastly, even though there is a discount from the hotel for the parking, the amount can still be important (we paid around 79 CHF for our stays).

The bedding is way too hot.The air con doesn’t go below 19.5The blinds are not blackoutThe expensive suites are above the restaurant and in front of the road.The bells are so loud it sounds like it could be opposite the hotel.Great customer service. But if you can’t get to sleep or sleep at all, what’s the point…

I had an amazing experience at the Volkshaus Basel during my recent vacation. The rooms are nothing short of spectacular, with everything being of the highest quality and Swiss-made. The attention to detail in the room design and amenities is impressive, making our stay incredibly comfortable and luxurious.The staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. I was invited to a stylish wedding in Basel last weekend, and the conclusion in this stylish ambience of the Volkshaus was the perfect ending: the rooms were beautifully renovated, very valuable, the breakfast was delicious in this beautiful courtyard in this midsummer weather, simply great! I'd love to come back!
