Really great hostel, especially for travellers on a budget and/or dependent on public transport. The building is really basic and a bit old fashioned but the rooms are clean with good bedding and the couple running it are nice and friendly. The shared kitchen is as in any hostel of this price range: a bit of a hodgepodge cutlerywise and the cleanliness dependends mainly on the dishwashing qualities of your predecessors...

The worst accommodation I've ever stayed in! And God knows I'm not picky. When I arrived, the room was apparently freshly cleaned and I had to wait another 30 minutes. When I was able to get into the room there was a dead bug on the floor and spiders on the walls. It smelled very musty even though the windows were open. The bathroom and kitchen haven't seen cleaning in a long time, disgusting!! Never again !! I can't understand the positive reviews, maybe I bought it??? It's a shame, the hostel itself has a lot of potential and a good location.

Very nice hostel. Great location, convenient to the hiking trails. I don't know why it has such bad reviews. It would be useful to paint the rooms, but it's not as bad as people describe it in comments. The hostel has everything you need before and after the hike, hassle free owner, on site parking. I recommend it to anyone who comes to Malerweg to enjoy life and discover the beautiful hiking trails.

The abode of horror.First the positive. The landlord responded very quickly and friendly to planning questions. The rooms are sufficiently large and functionally furnished. The lounge has space for around 14 people and is in an acceptable condition.However, you can find spiders everywhere in every corner of the room. On the ceiling, on the floor, on the beds. The rooms are damp and cold. The walls dirty. The toilets also needed cleaning. Now to the kitchen. I know that the guest is responsible for order and cleanliness. However, basic hygiene is expected. Everything was dirty. Not from the last guest. No, already from the guest who was there last year. The kettle was scorched, the drawers were broken. The rag has almost become independent. The outdoor area was also unkempt, dusty and the lawn was knee high. So the fireplace is not inviting. In all it could be a great hostel in a central location if more love and care was put into it.

After making a telephone inquiry, we were able to check in very spontaneously an hour later. Very flexible! Rooms and common areas were clean and absolutely appropriate for a hostel. Hostel father was very, very friendly. Can't understand the negative reviews. You pay 20€ per night/person elsewhere in Königstein just for the view we had of the banks of the Elbe from our room. For us the perfect accommodation after a long hike. We will be back! The only thing that is no longer up to date is the lack of WiFi.

Just pathetic, this hostel doesn't even deserve 1 star. THE HOSTEL is just dirty because the rooms are full of spiders, moths and beetles, just disgusting.

Very long wait to go into the room. I think he doesn't understand what it means to clean rooms, only spiders and other crab machines. Very rude host who only complains. Only the view was good but you shouldn't expect anything more from there.

Price-performance ratio great.Kitchen is great for cooking yourself, but you have to bring your own oil and spices. Overall everything was kept very simple, but okay for the price :)

The rooms are fine, the kitchen is ideal for cooking yourself. Toilets and showers are also clean. No complaints. Very nice for hostel facilities, of course not hotel standard. Very nice for self-catering.The hostel is ideal for hiking and going on excursions. Very nice company, Lutz recommended suitable hiking routes for us.Parking space included, meadow and climbing rocks behind the yard. Very good price-performance.
