I'm not entirely sure what most of these previous reviewers are complaining about. Yes, the hotel / pub is old, so there's no lift, no air conditioning but you're on the doorstep of Waterloo station and Lambeth, so the location is perfect. The included breakfast was great and I liked being able to order eggs and a cooked breakfast etc. They even offered dairy alternatives to milk, if you're so inclined. We found that our room was very warm though, even though we had turned off the radiator upon our arrival in October. The fans included in the room were much appreciated, but that's probably due to the building keeping heat in. Also, the location means that you will probably sleep better with ear plugs.

I love this hotel have stayed many times, at least twice a year for many years. Feel like one of the family. I would like to say always welcomed from arriving in reception, however, not quite the case this time. …

At very short notice, I found a beautiful place to enjoy London’s evening scene.Thank you, Leo, for arranging the desk lamp that created the perfect atmosphere to welcome me back after a night in London, filled with vibrant music, visuals, and lighting. It truly felt like walking into a painting, with every sense alive and dancing. The Wellington offered a diverse breakfast that boosted my energy, perfectly preparing me for the day ahead. The customer service was immaculate from the moment I arrived, greeted by a professional doorman with the presence of a rugby player, and a smooth, welcoming check-in. The receptionist beautifully Asian style, was patient and thorough, showing me all the details about navigating the place. The location is ideal, right across from the bustling Waterloo station, making it incredibly convenient to catch my train on time. It’s hard to rival the experience at the Duke Wellington Hotel☺️.

This hotel has lots of atmosphere with upstairs and downstairs dining. The food is pretty good too. We tried several of their pies and all were great. Service was friendly and prompt. A good example of an English pub meal. Prices reasonable for this area.

Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us other than the bar staff. And a small cabinet for luggage there were multiple people trying to drop off their luggage for the day because check-in was typically not until 3 PM. …

The location is great, that's the best part. I arrived from US for 2 nights. The reception for the hotel is in the bar. It was loud and crowded with no where to sit.  …

Loved this place, the hotel personnel were great. There were many choices for breakfast. Enjoyed the pub on the ground floor. Location was directly across the street from train and underground station. Room was small but clean. Only negatives were lack of an elevator and air conditioning. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We chose this pub for its location, right next to Waterloo station and then direct tube to Wembley Stadium. What a great decision. We received a warm welcome on arrival and every member of staff we met were smiling and friendly. …

Really like it here. Feels like a proper pub and it's a great place to meet people thanks to it's proximity to Waterloo. Only slight disappointment was the toilets, I understand it's hard to police but needs a good old steam clean. Looks like they'd let a dog loose in there.

Not too cheap, inside a pub.The tiniest bedroom I’ve ever knew. Even a smallRV are more spacious. The noise of the train station and people on the street annoyed me a little. But it is well located, in the heart of Waterloo, right on the corner of a train station. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
