I'm a single traveller but part of a coach tour. Reading the reviews, I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. My single room was large with a large bathroom.  …

The beds aren’t the most comfiest to be completely honest, the room sizes are nice and the antique vibe goes well with the hotel. We did check in quite late but the hotel did run out of keys, luckily we were just going to crash for the night and didn’t need it, the assistant did run up the stairs to let us in whilst we took the lift, which was a lovely gesture, however a room key would have been nice. The walk to the beach… impeccable. Great location.

While the hotel was what you would expect for the price, and the location was perfect, unfortunately we had to leave at 11pm due to the room being absolutely boiling. We called reception and were advised the hotel is on one system and can't be controlled by your own room or radiator. We were offered another room but we had our small dogs with us so this wouldn't have been suitable so made the decision to make the 100 mile journey home in the middle of the night. If we had visited in the summer when no heating was on, I can't imagine there would have been any issues so it is a shame.

Super helpful staff. Lovely clean rooms. Check was nice and easy. Booked for two nights travelling solo around the country. Couldn’t happily have spent the week here. Had breakfast a couple of time which was lovely. Everything was great. Just no entertainments at all

The bed was so uncomfortable and only had 1 rock hard pillow each. The bedroom was too hot to sleep in even with the windows open and radiator turned off. The sink in the bathroom had no plug, the shower didn’t work so had to run a bath. …

The hotel is quite standard, the rooms are clean & spacious but the décor a bit outdated but fair for the price paid. We slept well in the twin beds, the mattress was good. …

Last minute booking 3 days before stay. Cheapest room £145 no window. Very outdated decor. Breakfast was an addional £10.50 per person. Breakfast was cheap produce. Hubby is diabetic and does not drink hot drinks. Asked if possible for a diet coke to be told, the bar is not open, and there is a vending machine that does water. All other hotels we have stayed at have accommodated this request even though we have paid for the drink. We stayed at the royal bath hotel the previous night. Twin room last minute stay(10 minute before) and paid £129. The difference was outstanding. Will definitely choose the royal bath over this hotel anytime.

Lovely Hotel, rooms unfortunately not air conditioned, altho there is a a fan in room. Loved having a bath to have a soak in after a long drive. Pets are welcome. Good reception staff and great Hotel Manager, very understanding if you have a problem and more than happy to help sort things out for you. Will stay again!

On first reading the reviews I was sceptical. Breakfast was lovely as had been described. Handy location for beach and town both up or down steep hill, entertainment on both nights we stayed, both very good. Bed was so comfy.  …
