The listing for this is a touch misleading. We arrived at the address for this listing and were told that the "Hotel Z" chain is a series of over 120 units throughout the area.  …

The whole place is really sketchy and some of the rooms are UNDERNEATH a 24 hr kitchen. I was put in one of these rooms, staff were moving furniture until 1am and then started again at 4am. …

really wanted to love this hotel but couldn't. The room was windowless and in the basement. You hear everyone above you plus there seemed to be construction going on in the building. it was difficult to sleep. The front desk person was amazingly nice (he was the one very great thing about the hotel). He told us that we could get free coffee throughout the day as well as wine and cheese at night. We went to the cafe a couple of times for the coffee and were treated disrespectfully each time. One woman glared then hesitated about making the coffee. The second time we tried to get coffee the guy refused us because he said we had to book directly through the hotel. I told him we did and he asked to see the receipt. I pulled it up on my phone and then he said I should have just showed him my room key. I told him he should have just asked me for it. So, it didn't feel good being treated like a beggar for asking for free coffee that we were told was a service to guests. I had friends who were waiting to hear about our experience for their future trips to London. Despite the front desk manager being amazingly good, he was the only good thing about it, so we can't recommend.

+The room had a lot of character & was overall very comfortable! Everyone was really nice. The location was just over a 5 minute walk to shopping on Oxford Street.

Booked last minute to stay for 1 night due to attending a concert in London for my birthday. Extremely chaotic check in, which took about 25 minutes from the time we arrived and joined the queue. So many people checking in / out at the same time. Such a small front reception desk and front desk staff seemed disorganised, apart from one lady who was Filipino I believe. She was friendly, efficient and no nonsense- the other staff could learn a thing or two from her when it comes to customer service. She was kind enough to upgrade our room from a queen with no window to a queen with a window, as it was my birthday. The room itself was basic and small, but clean. There was no safe in the room, which in my opinion is an essential in a hotel room (people leave passports or valuables - if we had brought these items with us, I wouldn’t be pleased to find no safety deposit box in the room!). No mini fridge in the room either which left me slightly disappointed. Hair dryer was powerful, however attachment didn’t fit, not many plug sockets to charge phones, etc. TV was large with Sky tv. Overall for the price paid (£170 for a Saturday night) I thought the room was quite basic, and no breakfast included in that price… but it did a job for a night. Would I stay again? Maybe if the rooms were £20 cheaper. The quality of the rooms were OK but for £170.. I’m not sure.

Great hotel on a quiet street. My room on the 1st floor faced the street, but hardly heard anything at night. About a 45 minute walk to all the major attractions, so if that’s not your thing then perhaps look for something closer. While it may seem quiet, only a couple streets over there are plenty of shops and restaurants.

Great location for exploring Marylebone, Regent’s Park, Mayfair, and Hyde Park. We opted for a room with a window so we didn’t end up in the basement but our ground floor room only had a skylight.  …

Super. Im impressed by the management that keeps this place running so well. It is consistently good, the staff is generally well chosen and trained and supported, which makes the place very safe and welcoming for guests. Quite relaxed and a good base for London. The buildings are like townhouses they have a homely feel to it, especially the club or the cheese and wine evenings where guests can meet.
