Really beautiful location. The village of coniston is really quiet but has a petrol station and a co op for all your food needs. The lake itself is really nice with a couple of shops and a cafe on its shores. Really impressed and will visit again. Parking may be an issue around the village though. Only downside.

Fabulous location with easy access into the mountains. Well maintained and food and service were excellent. Parking on-site is limited, but the helpful YHA staff will advise on very local alternatives.

Loved this hostel, great location and lovely staff. I would have purchased more alcohol from the onsite bar if it weren't for the high mark up. Bottle of Hawkshead ale over £6.00. Pub down the road has a pint for under a fiver.

Pods are great space for a night. Breakfast was really good value. Showers were warm but dirty wet floors made bit awkward.

2 nights' stay here on a short trip away. Booking was easy, as was check-in. We'd booked beds in dorm rooms - comy beds, decent space for 8-bed dorms, and well heated. …

Perfect except for the price of a mediocre, generic beer at the bar. I fully support the YHA and how they introduce young people to the outdoors, but the bar prices seem to be made up by an upper class executive who has no clue about the real world.
