The rooms are comfortable. It would be helpful if they advertised that you can have breakfast in the Italian Restaurant, which is within the hotel building from Thursday to Sunday. Their breakfast was very good. Also, a Thai restaurant The Orchid is right beside the hotel, and we had an excellent dinner there on our first night.

It's basic but adequate. Our room, on the first floor, was clean and neat. Basin taps in bathroom a bit difficult to turn off. Worst point was TV - small and didn't work! Receptionist came promptly on report and got it more or less working but it's obviously flaky. However, restaurant on ground floor is excellent!

Battle is lovely, quirky Shops and pubs. |Hotel was reasonable but shower didn't work! Did mention to reception staff but nothing! Place needs updating. Terrible parking too. We were on the very top floor and had to duck in room as ceilings so low.

I recently stayed here during my visit to battle. Loved the atmosphere and the vibe in the room is just incredible. The hotel manager is super helpful, kind and a lovely person, i believe Mr Edie was his name. Would surely recommend anyone to stay here.

Perfectly acceptable. The cost was half the other hotels in Battle and the room was as expected. I heard that it is under new ownership and the new owners are aware that the rooms need updating. The carpet was very worn, the bed was squishy, the pillows were sad. But the room was clean and the staff were helpful. Great location.

The duvet has blood on it on one of the beds in our twin room. We unpacked quickly to get to our event and didn't see it until we got back to our room late; there was no one on the front desk to talk to about it and get a clean duvet. It's fine if an historic building is tired but this is unhygienic.

Can honestly say this was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The bed was horrendous, the mattress needs replacing as when you sat on it, you can feel the wood frame underneath. The room and bathroom smells horrible. The carpet was disgusting and the window had a large crack. A child would have sliced their finger open. I don't really have much positive things to say except the man on the reception was friendly

We arrived early to head to a wedding so the front-desk gave us a key, and looked after our bags for the day. When we returned back to the hotel in the early hours, extremely tired, we found they had kindly placed our bags in the room. The room was spacious, bed was huge and comfortable, and the staff were also incredibly friendly on both days.

I needed a one night stay in Battle, and was very pleased that I chose the George Hotel in the High Street (booking only a couple of days before, I had a reduced price). …

We enjoyed our stay here at The George. Our room was HUGE with a very large window that opened to allow fresh air in and got the morning sun.A nice big sofa was also present which is a lovely spot to sit in the morning and have your coffee with the sun coming in.The bathroom does need a bit of work but is quite usable. The gentleman at the front desk was so polite and helpful. What a gem. We were on the second floor and he carried both my mothers and my suitcase up for us which was so kind because mine was very heavy.I love the staircase here, it has such character. Its in a good location however the street is very busy but thats not the hotels fault. The Italian restaurant down stairs, at the front is a lovely place to have dinner, lovely food and they also do breakfast in the morning from 8am. Very convenient when most things are closed early on a Sunday morning.
