What a shame!! This was once a very nice hotel, and probably very grand in its day. We stayed here about 10 years ago , when it had been cared for better than it is now. …

So, this was a special weekend treat for Airborne. A family tradition. My son had paid for me to stay at this hotel as a special birthday gift. ||||The reception was cursory, but polite. …

I stayed here for one night and regretted I did, The room was the worst I've ever paid for it was like a broom cupboard no natural light and outside the window a commercial boiler ran constantly which meant getting sleep was impossible. …

We had a Groupon deal for dinner, bed, breakfast ,and a bottle of wine. We arrived early to ask about the carpark. The receptionist was extremely helpful . She also checked to see if our room was ready( we were two hours early) It was, so we paid for 24 hours parking and took our luggage to our room.We had booked a seaview room. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The panoramic seaview was superb.Unfortunately, we couldn't open the window which seemed to be locked. The tea and coffee facilities were generous. Our three course evening meal was very tasty and the young guy serving drinks in the bar, was superb. The breakfast was excellent, with a large selection of cereals, toast, yogurt, fruit , pastries, continental choices and a delicious full English breakfast. We had misgivings about our stay , due to having read some poor reviews. However, we enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the Cavendish hotel. Our only complaint would be that the bed wasn't very comfortable. I think the mattress needs replacing, otherwise our stay represented excellent value for money in an extremely convenient and pleasant location, with friendly , helpful staff.

There are many good things about this hotel. The seafront location is beautiful, as are all the public rooms. In my case the staff I saw were friendly and for me it was convenient to collect tea-making supplies at reception.  …

We had a lovely room with a nice Seaview with only a few negative issues. The window had to be closed with two adults as the window frame was highly unstable. The plumbing in this hotel is such that you get a roaring sound resembling a massive vacuum cleaning device, every time you flush or let the bath water go.In the bathroom you can hear this racket throughout the building which is rather annoying. Check in at 3pm and check out time at 10am is a joke really...Other than that it was an ok stay with a nice view.

This hotel is bad budget. No bag service. 1 lift to all floors a small lift not big enough for purpose. The dinner is self service 3 course but nothing looked appetising and did not taste of anything gave me stomach ache not a good start to my stay. The room has lighting in the window only. The room is noisy even with the windows closed it's noisy not pleasant at all. The only positive points are It has a working tv and the shower was nice and warm and it has tea and coffee in the room.
