This place and their new name 'Berkley Apartments' are a scam. I made and paid for a reservation they would not honor even after arriving with the confirmation letter in hand. I have filed a claim with my bank and will be taking legal action.

I had a simple but clean and functional room. Comfy bed and powerful shower. Friendly staff, and the very sweet resident cat was a lovely added bonus.Great location for what I needed (which waa easy walking distance from tube and specific venues in Shoreditch). The only issue I had, which isn't something the owners can necessarily control, is the noise outside in Garden Walk at around 2-3am on Friday & Saturday nights. I also stayed the Sunday night and it was lovely and quiet.

Great location. There are good bits and less so good bits. The bed was really comfortable. I really liked having the kitchen. The bedroom was up some steep stairs and there was a beam across the room that you had to avoid. It was also very quiet so I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived a couple of hours early and wanted to check in because we had been awake for almost 24 hours. The man at the counter said we could not check in. Ok, that's fine, except there really isn't a lobby for us to wait. We asked if we could leave our luggage, and he said he normally charges £30 but he'll charge us £20. We decided to find a nearby park and wait there instead. We returned an hour before check-in because we were exhausted, and he said we could check in, but he had to charge us £10 for early check-in. We would have gladly paid to check in earlier. I'm not sure why he didn't tell us sooner. Also, there is no lift (elevator). So we had to carry our things all the way to the top floor. We finally get to our room, and it looks nice and clean, but the AC doesn't work very well. I start to doze off for a nap and housekeeping knocks on the door to get laundry out of our washing machine. Then, a short time later, the man from the front desk is knocking on our door, offering us a fan. I just want to sleep! The rest of our stay was fine, but that first day was annoying.

Photos are completely out dated. Place is in poor condition. It’s situated on top of a restaurant which pumps tunes every night until midnight … the tunes reverb through the thin unwiped waxy floor boards on level 1 … literally Every. Single. Night.Windows are really thin as is the door to the apartment so you can hear everything at all times.Kitchen has two spoons but no fork lol. Washing machine for laundry sets off a mini earthquake during the spin cycle. It makes your vision blurry. The resident cat wees and leaves a dump every morning at the front door. They say they charge £10 to leave your luggage, but then on the day they say they charge £20. Depending who you talk to I guess.Outside of that, the location is great.Suggestion to pack yourself a mop, some floor cleaner, and some industrial ear muffs to get a good nights rest.

Doesn’t deserve the bad reviews! We were extremely worried after we had booked as it is non-refundable and read the reviews afterward. They do charge your card for the refundable deposit but I received my money back after about a week.No bed bug issues, and bed was clean. Our room was upgraded and was a good size especially for the area. Perfect location in Shoreditch close to everything. There is a friendly hotel cat who hangs out in the hallways, if you are an animal lover you’ll love them.

My father was diagnosed with a serious illness several days before we were due to arrive, making him unable to travel, and they refused to allow us to cancel the room despite it being at their discretion. Policy maybe, just sad that human decency can’t prevail over money. Won’t be staying again.

Great apartment. Solid beds and spacious, it has a fully integrated kitchen like your own place. Comfy clean place and lovely atmosphere. Stayed here cpl years back, staff is friendly. Probably the best place in London to dine with lots of entertainment in the area for nights out. See you again soon, thanks for a great stay and extra linen sent to my room.

Our family of 4 stayed for one week in a "superior family apartment". It was actually quite good choice for us. Kids liked their own little space upstairs and the small separate kitchen and dining areas were cute. Flooring seemed newly renovated and the beds were comfortable. Shower closet and kitchen could use some renovation but worked well also as they were. There is some noise from the pubs down the street at night but that did not bother us much. We could occasionally hear other guests quite well - so this might not be a place for noisy nor sound sensitive guests. Short walk to tube and busses. Shops and restaurants nearby.
