Stayed following some of the recent renovation work and had a lovely time. The historic building and grounds are absolutely beautiful. We checked in and made our way to the room which was small and a little cramped but comfortable. We got a good price for 2 nights and didn’t plan on spending much time in the room, we were made aware at point of booking that it would be a small and we didn’t mind. It was clean and cozy.We didn’t dine at the hotel so couldn’t make comment on the food services. There was a live singer in the bar on the Saturday night which was a nice surprise. The staff were all incredibly friendly and happy to help.We enjoyed the swimming pool and some of the other facilities at the leisure centre. Very good. After a swim we had some coffee and sat on the decking behind the pool building and looked out over the beach.Would stay there again next time we’re in the area.

I loved this place, felt right at home! If you like modern, plastic places, this hotel will not be for you, it has bags of character! And staff with personality's that can't do enough for you and have the time to chat if you are on your own. I agree with their policy of not having the rooms serviced every day, If you want clean towels, tea making items etc just pick them up from reception. Food is good if you like home cooked food and there's always a selection, 4 courses, £15 per person, not bad at all. Breakfast has plenty to choose from. We stayed in room 261 and had a beautiful view of the gardens and the sea. There's a charge if you want to use the spa/swimming pool and all transactions are buy card. We also had good entertainment every .nightFabulous 👌

I stayed in the hotel for one night and let me tell you it was an amazing experience. The previous reviews scared me a little bit before going but I was met with kind staff, amazingly decorated hotel, a colourful garden and good food. The breakfast and rooms can use a little bit of work, I think breakfast choices were limited and rooms were outdated but clean. Accidentally I found myself in the fire escape stairs, where it was very dirty. Rooms were clean, they were just outdated which is fine. They are big, reasonably priced and well-equipped.The staff were amazing as well, the gentlemen at the bar was very welcoming and attentive. All the reception staff was very friendly, shout out to the lady who didn’t let me down when I kindly asked for some slippers. Receptionist Madina was very professional and kind, she helped me during my checkout with my bag and the stuff I forgot in the roomI had the chance to use the wellness centre, I strongly recommend! There is even a little cafeteria inside of the Spa.10/10 would stay again.

This is a great place to go to. It's a big place. Rooms are big, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are very nice. I would definitely stop here again. Close to the beach, 20 minutes walk to the town, through a beautiful park setting with lots to do. I can't complain about anything, if I'm honest.

Booked our stay through a third party who will remain anonymous, booking was not as advertised. With the help of Philip at reception this was swiftly and smoothly dealt with and we were in our room pretty much instantly. …

Cheap hotel and was offered a free upgrade on arrival which was nice. The room was vast and relatively clean, bed was sprung but comfy enough. Towel rail didn't heat up, and the provided 'revitalising' shower gel oddly smelt of cooked rice.
