Clean, comfortable value hotel in a great location. The room was fresh, bed soft and comfortable and the bathroom well appointed with a great shower.Professional, friendly staff who are attentive and worked hard to make our stay pleasant. As is common there are stairs so you may wish to consider this with your mobility needs. Also for people unfamiliar with UK, the power points are centrally located. If you wish to charge your phone next to the bed, you should consider bringing an extension cord.I highly recommend breakfast. Toast, croissants, cereal, lunch meats and fresh fruit make this a good value option for those wanting to make the most of their day. It's located very close to the oval tube station, bringing London to your fingertips and of course right next to 'the oval' for those who like their Cricket. It's location near the tube station and shops mean that the road is a little busy but you ARE in the city not the suburbs.I am glad I chose this hotel for our visit to London.

This was our first time booking a room here, and we were very impressed. The room was clean, and the bathroom maintained a high standard of hygiene. Aakanksha, the staff member who assisted us, was sweet, accommodating, and worked hard to resolve any issues we encountered. Her service attitude was exceptional. We felt comfortable and well taken care of during our stay.

Location is excellent, so is the staff (apart from the house keepers who didn't manage to get us the extra pillows until we left). The hotel itself is more of a guesthouse, tiny bathrooms, relatively clean rooms and the windows need replacing as you can feel the wind blowing in. Paper thin walls.

I truly believe this hotel has lots of potential. First thing to do is give the external a face lift. I'd paint all the wooden details and window frames black. Inside is actually decent but could still do with modernisation. Staff are very nice 👌🏼

DO NOT BOOK!! I REPEAT, DO NOT BOOK!! the room we (three girls) got had a small window, it was very hot (31°), no air circulation. We were provided with a little fan which was not working or standing straight, asked for another one, got it, but it kept falling apart too. Lots of dust on the fan and as a result of that we all started having a cough that lasted over two weeks. THE ROOM IS NOT SOUNDPROOF! You hear EVERYTHING being said and done from the reception, to the stairs, to the room on other side, above you and under you. Also, you hear and feel the vibration of the trains passing by, there is no view, except the backyard that give you the creeps, but you cannot close the window because of foul smell coming from the carpets. Our towels were dirty, with spots! There were no sockets to charge your phone by the bedside, or little bed lights as shown in the photos when booking a room. One bed was normal, the single bed was way to soft and not comfortable. The one pillow each of us got was flat and well used. The Wi-Fi was poor, lagging. We rather used data. No basic water in reception. We checked out as fast as we could (next morning) and payed way more for a better hotel. For the love of god, I don't know why this place has good reviews.Do yourself a favor, pay more for a better chain hotel, and you will not risk being in a situation like ours. The only positive thing was being near the tube station.

We stayed at the Maiden’s Oval for three days and then left to Scotland for three days, came back and stayed for one more day. I read some of the old reviews and to be honest I was a bit worried, but I was enticed to book here because of the very decent price, and its proximity to the Oval tube station that leads you everywhere in London. I was very pleasantly surprised to put it in short. Service was very kind and accommodating. They had an early check in fee that I paid the first time. The second time I came back they were very kind and waived it. The room was modest and relatively clean. Reading the old reviews shows me that management has paid attention to the complaints of previous customers. All carpets are brand new and clean with clean sheets and very comfy beds. The bathrooms and showers and brand new and renovated. When I walked in I could smell the cleaning supplies used in the bathroom meaning it was just cleaned. I could hear the cleaning person vacuuming also which means they vacuum the rooms. When we went to Scotland we paid them a small fee to store our larger bags for three days while we took only carry ons. They were very kind and accommodating. In short for a budget hotel it is pretty good. You get what you pay for and this is worth the funds paid. One major complaint. Elevator is not working and seems like this is a perpetual problem. This is a very big issue if you have mobility issues or have large luggage’s as they have three floors that can be nearly impossible to go up with a big luggage or baby stroller. Aside from that all is good. If you are looking for good breakfast go to Liloos Coffee and Kitchen down the street. Best breakfast in London.

The hotel is clean and staff are pleasant and welcoming. My room was small, bearing in mind how much I paid. There are no lifts, or they are not functional as I was on the third floor
