As advertised, very modern, clean and spacious. Plenty of room for three of us with sofa bed already made up. Black walls and floor so no atmosphere! Stayed in Hackney Central hotel which was near station so good access to central London.

The shared rooms are not fit for purpose, don’t be fooled by their pretty website like I was. They were advertised as having air-conditioning but clearly do not. Avoid in summer. I’ve stayed at Z hotels and Hub so familiar with windowless budget but without air-con it just doesn’t work. One bathroom for five rooms was ok when I stayed as there was low occupancy, not sure how it would be with full. Also noise wasn’t too bad given low occupancy but walls are very thin.As others have said, fire alarm has a green light which flashes every minute or so. Didn’t bother me but I know would affect others.Mattress and pillow had seen better days. Otherwise fairly clean and well presented. Staff are very friendly and helpful as much as they can be.The room is basically a cupboard but I did expect this. I didn’t expect it to be a kiln!

Furnishing could not be more limited. I don't need much space but at least in the bathroom a shelf would have been nice.AC was soooo loud even switched Off it made noises. No hot water in the Bathroom sink. That was Very annoying. And For so Little space it was NOT cheap!!!!!!

HORRIBLE!! Do NOT stay here! There is No Air Conditioning, and some rooms don’t even have windows. It is not clean; Maintenance does not clean regularly or at all honestly. I stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and they never even emptied the full garbage in the bathroom nor did they replace the empty conditioner and hand soap bottles. We ran out of toilet paper and needed a new bath mat and towel I had to go ask for more. I asked for soap and no one knew where that was. There’s no towels or anything to dry your hands in the bathroom either. Also, when they take your singular towel you get, they don’t give you a new one. Not to mention when the front desk staff did get me a “new” towel, that also had many stains on it. The mattress sheets come off so easily, and the mattresses themselves underneath are absolutely disgusting. Location is so hidden and shady and is FAR from all of the attractions and airports. Want to go somewhere? Good luck: you will need to take a train with multiple changes over a hour long or pay a huge price to get car rides to work he city. Either will take you minimum 1 hour. Pictures and descriptions online make it out to be a beautiful place but it is the exact opposite. Staff is not helpful or serious at all, and this so called coffee they tout giving away is nowhere to be found. Water in the toilets hardly flushes (most times it didn’t) so when I walked in MULTIPLE TIMES, I saw it full (I was in a shared bathroom hall, so you can imagine how grotesque that was). The Water in the showers goes hot cold every other second. The Small room would be fine except it’s so hot without air, and the train station below makes noise at all hours so you can’t sleep if you have a window at all and if you have it open. It is so loud. It is not in a great part of town by any means. Also, the hotel is just a maze trying to find reception and your room. Easily the worst stay I’ve ever had anywhere. It’s not worth more than 10 pounds a night.

I would not recommend staying here -- don't be tempted by the price. Be warned! I thought I would like the hostel-hotel hybrid, especially at this price (and I'm fine with a small room with little amenities), but this hotel has so many flaws. Go to an actual hostel for cheaper or the Travelodge next door. There were some upsides to my stay (which was fairly long; >1 week):1. One staff member was great at addressing my problems, and she was able to switch me to a different room despite every other front desk staff saying the opposite.2. The cleaning staff for my room was super friendly and would always greet me with a smile.3. The location is great for people who are into the alternative/bar scene. Hackney is a great place for nightlife and East London sights, but be warned that getting to central London is not the easiest. I really liked being in Hackney Central, but it might not be a good area for touristy stuff. The downsides are massive and sometimes hazardous:1. The other staff members besides the one I mentioned were either super disinterested in my issues or were downright condescending. One even said to me "You're in London over the summer...you should expect a hot room." Super unprofessional. I told them that the hotel advertises AC, and they had no response except to claim that it was working. They definitely know it's not working, but they can't be bothered to do anything about it. Might be more on the manager rather than the front desk staff, but their lack of professionalism was shocking.2. Related to that point, the rooms are HOT. When they say they have AC, they mean the hallways and the front desk have AC, which was always at a comfortable temperature. The rooms' AC does not work at all.I would go to the front desk because my room would be 80-85 F, and they would claim that it's working or that they turned it down. There might be a slight bit of airflow, but 1 minute, it's gone. Not to mention that you can't leave the door open for long, because people in the hallway can literally look into your room and your bed. They also had NO fans available my first night. The problem with this is that most of the rooms are windowless. They're also the size of a closet (not exaggerating). If there was great AC and ventilation (AS THEY ADVERTISE), it honestly would not be an issue, but they don't. You're cooking in a closet for the whole night. Note that the outside temperature during my stay was 20 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than the temperature in the room.3. There is a lack of security in this building. Literally anyone could come in and go up to your floor, since the front desk is on floor 1 and not the ground floor. Given that you might be tempted to leave your door open for the ventilation, this spells out a lot of problems. Not to mention, the final night I was there, there was an extremely troublesome altercation right outside my window and screaming.4. The walls are crazy thin. You can hear EVERYTHING happening in the rooms next to you. Any cough, any sudden movements, the door opening and closing, someone showering. If you have a window room, you might not have the same issue, since all you'll hear is the train going by every 10 minutes, which is extremely loud.In summary, do not believe the pictures. Do not get tempted for the price. There are better alternatives that are either cheaper or much more habitable in this area, as well as throughout London. Don't make the mistake I did!

Rooms are very basic - no window or anything and noise seeps into the room from those close by - you can hear the tv noise from the cabin . I was lucky that the noise stopped and I didn’t have any issues. The shared bathroom and shower was an issue, especially in the morning. However again, it wasn’t the end of the world. For a basic functional room near Stratford - it’s good!

This is more like a hostel than a hotel. Considering the price, I expected something better. The room is a lot smaller than I expected. It was incredibly tiny, so much so that I had pretty much no space to move around with my 2 suitcases on the floor! There is only 1 bathroom per floor. That was really inconvenient. There is no air conditioning in the room. It got extremely hot and stuffy in the room which was really uncomfortable. My room was right next to train tracks and a sidewalk, so it got pretty noisy. It’s a good thing I had a white noise machine with me otherwise there’s no way I’d be able to fall asleep. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because it’s in a good location and a stone’s throw away from transportation.

Great location for tube and train access. We even got the bus which was super easy using the City Mapper App. Rooms were clean fresh and tidy, check in wasn't as friendly as it could be almost as if we were an inconvenience. We arrived 30 mins before check in and apparently our room wasn't ready...they did put our cases in storage room and we just nipped around the corner to the closest pub for a drink and toilet facilities. After that we returned got the key but you MUST have photo ID for check in so ensure you take driving license or passport with you or you'll run into difficulties. After check in we had nothing more to do with reception on departure you can post your keys in the box on the ground floor 😀

Was not informed at all while booking or before arriving that the booked room was windowless. The benefits of not having a window are also void though, as the entire room flashes green every few seconds due to the smoke alarmThe staff were helpful and friendlyFirst room I was placed in had no working electrical sockets. They moved me to a second room where only half the sockets worked. Good enough if you just need something basic to sleep in close to transport

The worst check-in procedure, staff wasn’t cooperative in any way: “computer says no”-vibe. The beds have sagging mattresses - you sleep like a banana, really good if you want to create pain in your back. Can’t find any WiFi password anywhere. I don’t like this hotel at all. So happy we’re only staying one night. Good luck if you’re sleeping there and reading this right now..
