I've always had a soft spot for Novotel, but I can't help feeling that the brand is getting lost within the Accor group who appear set on chopping and changing their focus with a new marque being dreamed up seemingly every month. …

I stayed with my children for 2 days in the well located Novotel at Greenwich (just next door of the train and DLR subway station). While the hotel looks as an usual Novotel at first, it does not met the standard we always experienced in France: In the room, the main light circuit (2 main light bulbs) was not working, the shower was dripping all the night, and several insects appeared in the quite outdated bathroom. The floor of the room was dirty. We had to wait 10 to 20' to obtain our breakfast table whereas several tables were unoccupied. The buffet was regularly empty of some elements and only 1 coffee machine was in function. The location of the hotel is great, but the experience was not as expected.

Only had breakfast didn't stay here.|Our hotel was having electrical problems and couldn't serve breakfast so we were sent here. It was amazing the kitchen and serving staff were having to serve two hotels worth of guests and did it amazingly. If a decent breakfast is how you choose a hotel choose this one!

First of all, the location is great. The adjacent station takes you straight to the center of London. Greenwich itself is wonderfully green and has some nice restaurants. The hotel staff is very nice, but does not always handle things smoothly. You can have an excellent breakfast here and the afternoon tea is also recommended. The catering staff stands out positively. The rooms, although clean, could use an update. Housekeeping is good and fast. The beds are of good quality.

To be honest I wasn't expecting much but I can honestly say this hotel was excellent! The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Aircon was good. Bathroom OK. Toilet was clean but a little on the small size room-wise. The bar had a good atmosphere. Breakfast was fantastic and included in the price. There was a wide range of choice of food including a variety of cereal, fruit, traditional cooked full English and continental style food including cheese, ham, croissants/pastries. Service was good and it was all clean and hygienic. I would definitely stay here again!

Writing this review after returning home having had a horrible experience at the Novotel in Greenwich. Upon first looks, you may think it is a pretty hotel but that’s as good as it gets. More about style than substance it leaves a lot to be improved. Check in was a muted and robotic affair. The person could care less that I was staying there. The room itself looked fairly clean, however the shower was the worst I’ve experienced in a long time. Unless you enjoy standing in inches of water and the slowest drainage system ever, I would avoid this hotel like the plague. Having mentioned this to the person on reception named Ameer I then received the rudest responses to my issue ever and I cannot believe such a person is allowed to work with people. No apology was given, or offer of a refund. It was apparently my fault that I didn’t come down sooner and say anything. Bear in mind, a short while after I experienced the horrible shower, I packed my stuff and went to checkout at 6am, so technically I did mention it when I’d used it. His responses and lack of interest upset me a lot and I’ve been left feeling like I’ve wasted my money. Needless to say, a formal complaint will be made. Please save your money and go to the Premier Inn or Travelodge, their customer service is leagues above this place.

Great location, just next to a DLR and a National Rail station, as well as a bus station just .Service was mediocre, no phones in the room, forcing you to order room service downstairs, then having them bring it up to you later for a 5 pound fee. People at the front desk seemed to not be service trained much, even using informal slang language to other guests.
