Don’t do it, seriously. I got stuck in the basement where you won’t get cell service and the wifi won’t reach. The room smelled like mildew and the window looked out to the sub level drainage and pipes, lovely. I’m pretty sure that all of the other rooms down here are semi-permanent residences for staff. There is a public washroom directly across from my room and people are using it, and I can hear it…nice. I cranked the A/C down as cold as it would go and returned to a hot and stuffy room hours later. No airflow since the window is below ground level. It took me 10 minutes of fidgeting with it to get the TV to work, and even then the reception wasn’t very great. The beds are rock hard like sleeping on the floor. The shower looks questionable, the shower head is caked in mineral deposits and likely doesn’t work well. Ultimately it’s a place to sleep, leave your luggage, and walk to the tube; I wouldn’t want to spend any more time here than absolutely necessary. At £110/per night on a weeknight, I am beyond disappointed. Shell out for a better hotel, or find a cheaper one and get ready to walk further to the station, this is just not worth it.

we had a renovated room (double king superior), small but exactly what we were expecting! bed was big and reasonably comfortable, bathroom was fine! staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. baggage drop worked great and utilities like hair dryers can be “borrowed” from the reception.

I am not booking that hotel again. The room was very dirty. There are lots of dust on furniture, the bathroom apparently was not cleaned, it was one chewed gum on the soap holder. In the first night the lift are not working.

Perfect location near to the underground. Initial impression was good, impressive frontage and entrance foyer. Front of house were extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Our room was through a succession of corridors and down some stairs. Once we reached this floor the decor had deteriorated and the hotel looked like they were having a huge refurbishment. We were very disappointed in our room as it was barely big enough to fit the small double and wardrobe. The smell was horrendous like a cat litter tray ! I opened the window ( the curtain was only for half the window) onto a courtyard filled with builders machinery immediately infront of the window. The courtyard was also a main thoroughfare for staff, so my nights sleep was extremely disturbing. The shower room and toilet were clean however the cockroaches were not welcome guests in the bathroom.Needless to say, we will not be returning

Found the hotel originally on booking.com but tried to check with the hotel directly if there might be a cheaper price booking directly on their website. …

I can very much recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great accommodation at very affordable prices. The staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful I've come across in any hotel. The hotel's renovations are well under way and bathrooms and rooms are very clean and comfortable.I regularly travel to London for work, and after having tried many different hotels, I now always stay at the Cromwell International. Great staff and great hotel - highly recommend!

I am currently staying at this hotel. It is horrible. The shower is broken, there are cockroaches in the bathroom and the mattress on the bed is sunken. The service is terrible and they have not changed our room. We came as a group and the rest of the rooms are in the same condition or even worse. Broken showers, broken cisterns, no hot water, sunken beds. The worst hotel of my life. Another thing to note. The receptionist on night shift stinks. It is very unpleasant to enter the hotel and have the reception smell so bad.

The condition of Cromwell hotel is a DISASTER.I have never checked in and checked out on the same day before, but my husband and I decided to check out immediately after we checked in on 26 June. The walls and carpet are very dirty. The curtain is broken. Parts of your hotel are under renovation, the air quality is poor, and we felt itchy the whole time we were in the room.Additionally, the air conditioning is not working. The room felt like a furnace—stuffy, hot, and with bad air.I understand that everyone has different standards for room cleanliness and maintenance, but there was trash piled up outside the balcony (broken chairs, cans, lots of cigarettes, and I even saw socks?!). It shows that you didn’t even bother to clean it. That’s unacceptable.London is the last stop of my honeymoon, and this experience has ruined it. We checked out at 21:00 and were on the street looking for another hotel. We had to make a last-minute booking at a much higher rate and move to another hotel with all our luggage. It’s a complete mess and a very bad experience. The employee on shift on 26 June said that he totally understood and would let the manager respond to me the next day (27 June). It is now July and I still haven't received a single reply from the hotel. This is very disappointing and shows a lack of responsibility.Choose the hotel carefully!
