A little apprehensive after reading some other reviews. However staff on reception very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, spotlessly clean, beds also immaculate and comfy. Not a bad location to base for a stay in London with good transport options close by. Would definitely book again.

I regret to say that my recent stay at Argyle Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. The showers resembled something out of a horror movie with their level of grime and neglect. The cushions on the sofa were so filthy that I dared not even touch them. To make matters worse, the curtains were a disturbing shade of yellow that made me question their cleanliness. However, the cherry on top of this disastrous experience was the owner's appalling rudeness. Their lack of hospitality was truly astounding. Suffice it to say, this was the worst stay of my life, and I strongly advise anyone considering staying at Argyle Hotel to run in the opposite direction.

Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful |Have been ghosted when tried to change booking dates, phone number provided directs to personal mobile phone which is unanswered. Messages are not responded to. Booking.com won't help. So shonky and best avoided.

It was great for me. Very comfy bed, hot shower, everything I needed and wanted for a one-night stay. If I'd had stayed longer, I'd have used the kitchenette, which likewise had all that was necessary. Anna was very warm and welcoming on reception. Lots of interesting places nearby to eat at. I would go back

We booked the Executive studio for one night. I don’t think we could have stayed any longer than that. Upon arrival, the receptionist told us out of the blue that our ground floor room (#1) would be “the same as in the pictures”. We were wondering what she meant by that, and then quickly understood once we opened the room door: it was not at all like the pictures. The room has no outside windows, only a small basement-like window connected to the reception (that you obviously cannot open) which made it all feel very claustrophobic. The entire floor and parts of the walls are tile, which made it feel like a giant bathroom, far from the pictures on the website of a room with wooden floors and large outside windows. There are stairs leading to the kitchen/bathroom area underground that feel very much like a basement, or a laundry room. There were no towels in the room when we arrived. The soundproofing was not great, we could hear conversations/footsteps very clearly. The fire alarm blinks very brightly which made for very difficult sleep. But the really disturbing thing we found was a bug trap underneath the furniture. The sheets were clean, and we appreciated the large space, but this certainly did not feel like a 4 star hotel and not worth the 200 euros we paid for. I would not stay there again.

I'm honestly surprised about the reviews here because I had a totally different experience. Check in was easy and Anna was welcoming, getting in touch beforehand to find out what time I'd be likely to arrive. …
