We went for a counter meal in the Public Bar Sat 30/3/24 we were told there was a Surcharge as it was Easter Sat, there was a notice on the Bar stating that the surcharge was 10%. After we paid we realized that they had charged us over 20% surcharge I asked to see the manager who then refunded us the difference. We wonder how many people have been overcharged and not realized, and on top of that the meal was below standard very few vegies eg 1 green bean normally the bar meals have been very good so we won't be rushing back to the Hallam for a meal very disappointing to say the least.

I took a chance on this one, thinking the reviews were maybe a bit exaggerated and it'd be OK for one night. It was not. Stayed as a single traveller on the fifth floor. …

Stayed in a large group for 1 night. The location was great for us but that's where the positives end.||We had 5 rooms between The room I stayed in was an ok size. The bed linen and towels were clean but everything else was not. …

Great price for the location. I thought the room was nice, shower is ok. 4th floor with no lift. No manned reception but you have a key to the front door. The main problem is my bedding and towels were not very clean, or at least - I'm hoping they are cleaned but stained. Would have scored lower for that but honestly the location and price are amazing.

I found a hotel as close as I could to the event we were attending in Fitzrovia, London.||Two single rooms, a twin and 4 breakfasts.||1. The lift wasn't working so it was four steep stairways to the room. With cases quite tiring.||||2. …

Hallam is literally 5 minutes’ walk from the middle of Oxford Street behind Topshop, this alone made the price all the more surprising! …

Stayed there for a couple of nights back in May 2017. Maybe the worst 3 hotel nights in my life. Awful breakfast, dirty carpets, rooms like cells and absent staff. Bathroom really dirty with a lot of broken tiles. …

I ignored the reviews and stayed here. Big mistake. Hand on heart the worst night of my life, the room was the size of a broom cupboard and I’m not even exaggerating. ||It was so filthy and dusty my eyes stared itching and watering. …

Worst hotel I've stayed in I can't lie. I understand value for money but hygiene was terrible. Stayed here few months ago with my partner for work. The shower was dirty. Sink didn't drain the water away properly. Bed sheets had stains on them. Carpet was dusty. Just dirty.Felt disgusting having a shower there. Don't mind small room/small old tv/ancient lift etc- we just wanted hygiene.Only plus point was the location.
