We had a wonderful time at Sonder and would definitely stay again. We personally liked the hands-off approach/minimal interactions with staff- it felt more like our own space. …

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location can’t be beat, so close to public transit and Kensington Palace and the breakfast was amazing with too quality bread, baked goods and a super awesome Nespresso coffee machine . Room was small but this is London. Would stay here again for sure.

I had a truly disappointing stay. The hotel seems to combine the worst aspects of both an Airbnb and a hotel. The staff was unhelpful and unprofessional. I brought my laptop, expecting to use the desk that was listed in the room description, but upon arrival, there was no desk. When I pointed this out, they offered no solution. The room itself was tiny, barely allowing me to walk around the bed. It felt much smaller than advertised; I booked a 17m² room, but it was no more than 10m². The only redeeming quality of this hotel is its location. Other than that, they seem to be trying too hard to be "modern," but it falls flat—there wasn’t even any cleaning service provided during my stay. One morning, I had to leave early and went to the lobby for a coffee, only to be told by an employee that I wasn’t allowed to be there before breakfast hours—this was completely incorrect and just added to the frustration.Overall, it was a major letdown.

Rooms are old, stained, and moldy. Do not match website description. Breakfast was good. Other services were below budget accommodations (e.g., no tissues or hand towels in room, no temperature control, stained bedding and furniture, etc). We asked to borrow a plug converter and were told someone was going to buy more the next day, but that didn’t happen for 2 days so bought our own. Excellent location but otherwise frankly not worth the price and website photos are misleading.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was nice with lots of windows and a lovely bathroom. The bed was so comfortable. The location is easy walking distance to Kensington Gardens and lots of restaurants and pubs. A big thumbs up!

Great bed, quality simple breakfast (smoked cheese, pastries, freshly made orange juice) and good location for Royal Albert Hall and High St Ken. Would definitely return. Only comment would be that shower was lukewarm and with average pressure. But overall, a great conversion of a period building.

I stayed for 14 days as a solo traveler in May 2014. Great location restaurants, buses, shopping, park, bike rental and tube all within walking distance. I never felt unsafe in this area or in the hotel. The breakfast was magnificent.I stayed in the single room, which is small and no A/C but had a fan. The problem was the room got stuffy after 5 days, I found out from the staff I could open the window about 1 foot which made all the difference in the world, it was great from then on.I gave a lower rating because there is a lack of consistency within the staff regarding information given out, the time breakfast was available. I only saw three staff member more than twice in my 14 days stayed. I would stay again and tell my family and friends it's a nice place

10 minutes walk from High St Kensington tube. Quiet area. Easy check in, completely automated with pin entry for main door and bedroom.Firstly in 206 which was pokey and hot. TV not working. Moved to 106 on second night, beautiful large room, recommended.Awesome breakfast - continental but basically the best pastries ever only let down is coffee machine that you need a physics degree to use.Overall would recommend.

Never again! The queen room looks like a cell in a prison. Even the pictures on the wall a depressed. It’s tiny and ugly! Nothing like on the pictures! My skin was itching after I woke up. No shower gel in the shower. …

Our queen suite room (114) was absolutely FILTHY, OLD & MOLDY. Pictures of the room on Google and in Sonder app are VERY MISLEADING.1. Bathroom had mold and mildew, shower head had rust on it and fell apart. The mirrors were also either moldy or rusty. Everything was old and in desperate need of renovation.2. “Heated” towel rack in the bathroom had open wires3. Water pressure was super low;4. Air conditioner made weird noises and looked like it’s 20 years old (which is probably true).5. There were only 2 normal outlets in the room and at least 4 outlets in older british standard shape and therefore couldn’t be used for anything except lams. Sonder put a TV and a kettle in the room and yet didn’t install enough of proper outlets. We had to charge our gadgets one by one which was super uncomfortable.6. There is an elevator in the building, but there are still stairs to the rooms from the elevatorAll in all the room felt dirty, smelly and nasty. We contacted Sonder about the issues and they offered to “talk to us in person”. It was almost 12 am, we were tired from the road and asked to wait till morning. Never heard from them again.
