The hotel has pros and cons. Pros: the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room apart from the peculiar furniture was very comfy. We had a premium room, plenty of space, a fridge etc. The bathroom was very clean. …

- Stayed at the hotel 11/09/24 for. Paid for a double room, but was given a room with 2 single beds, which is not what I paid for, and was a very run down and grubby roam. Went down to reception and they said I would need to speak to a manager. They didn't actually go to get a manager and provided no additional support. Loud music was also played until around 11:30pm on a Thursday night in the conference room.- Spoke to reception again the following morning, who told me i would need to speak to a manager, but provided no additional help, or even got the manager.- Since I have sent 6 emails to reception, with 0 response or acknowledgement, and given 4 phone calls to which the response is " a manager will call you back tomorrow". 0 contact has been made and they are clearly just ignoring my issue.- Wouldn't recommend, be aware for 'bait and switch' to take larger payments and force you in to low end rooms, with 0 customer service or care.Update based on hotel response:- I do not believe you will take any appropriate measures to address the problem, given you ignored the problem being raised in person to your staff, emails and phone calls. Based on many, many reviews you have clear issues with the hotel that you continuously fail to address, hence your low rating.

This hotel is centrally located in the heart of Bristol, walking distance to many great restaurants, bars and attractions. This property features beautiful art throughout, which is fitting for a vibrant and artsy city like Bristol. The bed was terrible though. The mattress was old and I could feel the springs. I don’t know if this is a persistent problem, but it was very disappointing by Mercure standards. I stayed at another Mercure in Amsterdam during my recent European trip, and that property had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on.Also, the receptionist at check-in was not very friendly. So 3 stars is a fair review for this hotel.

This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed in. 300 pounds for 2 nights. The carpet in my room was absolutely flithy💯. The room was very compact. The walls could do with a painting. Breakfast was terrible. I ask for fried egg none. I ask for white pudding staff said they haven't got white pudding. I will sum up my stay. Disastrous 💯. I definitely won't be back💯

If you listen to one review, listen to this. The rooms have literally no sound proofing. Spent my whole night listening to some bloke in the phone to his missus, I could even hear her replying. On top of that the hallway door was slamming all night and I could hear the elevator. Great location but that is literally all.

I had a disappointing stay at this hotel back in August. I upgraded to a suite with extended checkout so I could work from the room, as the air conditioning was broken at the Bristol office I was visiting. However, upon arrival, I discovered the air conditioning in the hotel wasn't working either, which was incredibly frustrating. It seems this issue had been known prior to my stay, but I wasn't informed.Over two days, I experienced considerable discomfort and left earlier than planned, not getting the benefit of the late checkout upgrade. Despite informing the hotel that I would be working from the room, I was disturbed multiple times by housekeeping and maintenance, with one entering my room without knocking while I was on an important Teams call. Clearly, their system for handling late checkouts is broken. While the staff were apologetic and did assist me with an HDMI cable and chair, the overall experience was poor. I reached out to management twice about this situation, but I've received no response to my concerns. Given the lack of follow-up, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Very central hotel within old city centre so all main attraction are walking distance. Has parking but costs £17 for overnight stay. Breakfast is ok.Reception does not look at all like that of a Grand Hotel! More like two improvised desks next to a pub like area.It might have been a Gran Hotel in the past (building is clearly an historical one and very big) but it needs proper renovation/refurbishing inside and new facilities to keep up to this name!

We stayed a couple of years ago and liked the location so stayed on our recent visit to Bristol. We arrived just after midday, said we were checking in and was told 'check in is at 3' no offer to mind our bags until then or check if a room was available. After asking if we could leave our bags we were led to the luggage room and dropped our bags but without anyone checking that we had a reservation. Not a great start. The room was clean, AC worked well but the toilet ran after flushing which was irritating at 3 in the morning. The body wash also was out, walked past reception to ask if housekeeping could top it up but no one was at the desk.Breakfast was alright but the area for the buffet it pretty cramped.Probably wouldn't stay again when we're in bristol next.
