Absolutely the worst expression by far……This was a very upsetting and disappointed experience. I urge all interested to never stay in this hotel unfortunately. My bedroom was a standard room I suppose, yet my bathroom was outrageous. From the broken bathtub which flooded the bathroom floor to the cold water. The sink was extremely small, my children were unable to shower or even brush their teeth, despite myself. Most importantly the service, oh my this was very concerning. I have never been treated this way in my life, by any professional service. Even after reporting this issue I was disregarded and fobbed off by the hotel owners. They had no concern for my issues.Moving on to the commercialised “swimming pool”, this was a major reason for me choosing this place. I was very excited for my son having a nice swim. When asking the workers I was disrespected and it was stated that we are unable to open the pool after 5:00.

Unfortunately I had quite a odd experience here. Rooms and generally the hotel itself does require updating. Lift was working on/off which was a issue as I had a pram. Staff were generally ok but I can't help but feel as if any concerns were raised to the owners they would make excuses. They kept on saying we should report every issue but yet they weren't approachable or they were in denial. Doors were abit stiff and difficult to lock, there were issues in the bathroom in terms of flooding and opening a window was quite dangerous as they were heavy and quite old/stiff. When enquiring about facilities for my baby they said they simply do not stock any high chairs or cots which frankly is a health and safety concern. However when moving onto the accessing the 'heated swimming pool' we were informed by Mr Purewal that they do not switch it on as its a health and safety risk after 5 or 6 pm. When I questioned why they have advertised (online and infront of the hotel) about the swimming pool another member of staff then informed me that this is a old sign. I couldn't help but feel extremely disappointed. The breakfast was delivered quite well however food soon ran out.My words of advice to the owners is please do not be offended by this review. You surely must be aware of the changes required to the hotel. Carpetted bathrooms which are not hygienic? Leaking facilities in bathrooms? Window openings? Disability access/ramps? Changes to signs if certain facilities you do not provide? Please do not act or behave shocked when these issues are raised to yourselves. You as owners have a responsibility for the upkeep of this hotel. I urge you take this review as a polite notice to review your hotel as my experience has not been a pleasant one. People are paying customers/guests so please ensure before taking people's money you are indeed providing atleast a satisfactory service.

The hotel needs renovation lots of squeaky floors and the windows have a bit of mould around them. The view from the window was stunning but the window kept on shaking if you open the door or if you get a sudden gust of wind.

Booked this hotel as only staying 1 night but now wish we were staying longer. The bar was lovely and even the guests who are regulars are friendly and had a fab time talking about ghosts in Devon. Chris was charming polite and very helpful at all time even though he is struggling to walk. Hope you get sorted soon Chris and we will definitely see you all again soon

Had a lovely getaway with Urquhart travel, no complaints about the food, or the staff, bar doesn’t open till 5:30 but ken opened it earlier a couple of times. The entertainment on the 2 nights was good. Our room a double room ( room 19 ) was clean but dated. I’d also say very small and should only have been a single room. The toilet was carpeted ( yuk ) and the wall paper in the ceiling was hanging off and going black with I assume condensation with extraction fan not working. Lift didn’t work whole time i we were there. They did take our cases to and from rooms on arrival & departure.
