This was a very disappointing stay. The room we had wasn’t good value for money at all as it was very poorly decorated and doesn’t look as if it has been redecorated for a very long time. The owners were helpful storing our cycles in the closed down cafe but this didn’t make up for a number of negative issues. Wood chip wallpaper was used in all parts of the bedroom and bathroom. The room was very small, which we knew prior to booking but with no heating on and an open window meant that it was very cold on arrival. Fair play to the owner as he put the heating on when we asked and apologised that it wasn’t on for us. Lock boxes outside were a suitable method of accessing the room and building in the absence of on site owners. The honesty box was poorly stocked and like many other parts of the room looked rather sad! I am sure that with a lot of money spent on the whole property this could be an excellent place to stay in the lovely town of Dartmouth. Sadly at the moment it is not!

The location is lovely and from the outside this cafe looks lovely too. Can’t comment on the rooms as we didn’t stay but as for the cafe we wouldn’t return. The cafe was busy and being run by one poor man on his own. He was run off his feet with orders and decided the best option was to shut the door and turn the sign to “closed” with a cafe full of people. The scones weren’t home made and were TINY! Very expensive for what it is! Cream tea was £9 for 2 tiny scones. The toilets weren’t clean and the door jammed and I was stuck in the toilet having to force it open. The man we gave the benefit of the doubt for being miserable due to being so busy on his own but it didn’t add a nice atmosphere to the cafe. He didn’t look to enjoy his job at all.

I walked in to the most awkward service where we were simply ignored. The sign said order at the bar but both servers just ignored me standing there. There was another sign that said dog friendly but the waitresses constant tutting said otherwise. The food was pathetic, 2 Cornish pasties and 2 cheese on toasts for £50. All were garnished with 4 green leaves and a spoonful of beans from a tin.The toilets had no soap or paper towels and generally felt grotty. My 5 year old son came back from the toilet saying he wanted to leave as ‘the waitress looked at me angry’.This was a terrible experience!

Visited this place as previously enjoyed a few nice pleasant meals and beverages ! Gone downhill ! Toilets grotty , no soap or hand towels in ladies ??? No towels in men's but toilet all soiled so not checked regular! Poor customer service , no smiles from the servers ! All way too much trouble !! Pathetic salad with overpriced sausage roll, pastry and cheese toasty, minute amount of clotted cream for scones !worst cream tea ever ! And overpriced. Oat milk also too hot tasted burnt! Will avoid at all costs ! Real pity !!

Toilets open but only had tea/coffee (both £3.50) and totally avoided the sorry looking pasties and sausage rolls being offered at silly price of £9.50 with equally sorry looking salad. Wish we'd read the reviews before, but then it was raining and everywhere else was full!

The cafe is very expensive for what they serve. There is no table service and no available toilet. If you're serving sauages rolls at £9 I'd expect at least to able to use the facilities. The service is fine and the staff are friendly so no problems there. We also had a cream tea for £8.50 which is fine for 2 scones and tea if they are of good quality. However these scones looked like they were straight off the shelf of Asda, dry and small, not what you'd expect for the price. Also they had no clotted cream but didn't reduce the price. All in all we wouldn't go there again.

We popped into The Old Brasserie for some lunch. A good choice of simple food. I had croque monsieur which was delicious and my husband had Brie and beetroot tart which was equally as good. Very good cup of freshly ground coffee and superb tea pigs tea. The reason I've only given 3 stars was the inexperience/inattentiveness of the staff. We stood at the door while a girl cleaned the free table in the window then walked off ignoring us to collect condiments which she put on the table then walked off again to stand behind the counter still ignoring us and chatting to her colleague. My husband shouted across to ask if we were OK to sit at the newly cleaned table and she nodded at us. Five minutes later when she'd finished her conversation she came over with a menu, put it on the table and walked off without a word. Two minutes later she came back to ask if we were ready to order, which we did. She brought coffee, I asked for sugar which brought over and walked away. I had to go to the counter and ask for spoons to stir it. We had drunk it by the time the food arrived so I asked for another, which never arrived. When we finished our meal, I attracted the waiter's attention so that I could ask again for more coffee and some of their delicious looking cake. He came over stating the cost of what we'd had and waved the card machine at my husband. We paid and left. Such a shame as the food and coffee were delicious.

Clean, right in Dartmouth, everything you need in a bedroom including a collection of nibbles and drink's all done with an honesty box. The only thing I would say is let people know there's a fridge in the wardrobe you can plug in to chill any of the drink you may choose from the collection. We would definitely stay again, there's is some very negative reviews, but we really really liked the place

Lunch for two dog friendly food was poor quality 9.50 for a pasty is very expensive cheaper in London. In total £22.00 for two pasties and coffees is excessive will no go back there are a lot more places in Dartmouth that will be better priced.
