I've often said I'd like to stay overnight at the Rising Sun in Lynmouth and when the opportunity arose I took it. We booked a double sea view room which was cosy and with plumbing appropriate to the age of this historic inn. …

We originally visited this hotel in 2017 and had a lovely visit. This time we were extremely disappointed.|Upon arrival we noticed a stale smell which was present in the bar & restaurant. …

Super old building. We stayed for 2 nights for my husband's birthday. Our room was lovely with a super view, beams and a sloping floor. The shower was fast and hot. The bed was a standard double but we would have preferred a larger one. …

We last visited this place some years ago and boy has it gone down hill since then. To be fair it was clean and the bed was comfy but everything else was tired and in need of some love and care. …

Stayed here for a weekend and it was an excellent stay, lovely room with a nice bathroom. The location is perfect right on the seafront, there is a pay and display carpark a short walk away. The restaurant is very good but small so definitely book if you want to eat there.

The hotel is quite old with exposed beams and low ceilings. The rooms also are quite small. But the food was excellent. |It is located next to the sea and in easy reach of the historic Linton to Lynmouth water powered cliff railway. This links the two villages, avoiding an extremely steep climb.

Never used this for the hotel, so rating for the pub only. The bar area feels a bit shabby. There is limited outdoor seating in the front with nice view to the harbour. Ales felt a bit over it's peak time. Service is good. Overall an ok place to have some drinks.

Absolute beautiful place to stay. The staff could not be more helpful. The rooms were spotless but could do with some where to hang wet towls and store shower gel and shampoo in the shower though. The food is amazing. Would definitely stay there again.
