Popped in for lunch after a short walk around the tiny village. Menu outside looked great. Both myself and my husband had steak and ale pie with chips and vegetables, braised red cabbage, carrots, broccoli and mashed swede and gravy. We both agreed it was the best pie we've ever had. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.

Super nice place! Brilliant friendly helpful staff, massive tasty portions (cheese lovers - get the Ploughman's, it's incredible) and good value too. Really enjoyed our visit - thanks!

Where to begin.?.. A true home from home...Perfect location for us to attend the Widde-combe Fair...On arrival felt welcomed and greeted well by the locals..very polite and helpful staff ,nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless ,well furnished, fresh and supplied with everything and more for comfort and convenience . The food menu was outstanding 👌 as also the choice of fine beers and wines..(the best steak and ale pie and chips I've had) and the portions too match..The breakfast selection was impressive by the choice ,..again every attention to detail catered for. A Superexcellently Good Find 👍Only regret I couldn't stay longer but will definitely be booking next year's holiday here again. Only for longer.

The Ring O' Bells is brilliantly situated in the middle of Chagford, which is a great town in Dartmoor. The rooms are lovely, the breakfast is great and really sets you up for the day ahead. The bar is buzzing and lively and everyone is really friendly and welcoming. Parking is not too far away, at the main town car park. Highly recommend.

Just a review of the Sunday carvery which was excellent even by my own high standards. Two choices of gravy, one for beef, one for pork, cauliflower cheese which tasted of cheese and really tasty roast potatoes. I highly recommend this pub, not only for the carvery but its range of beer, ale and ciders at very reasonable prices. Try it!

I stayed overnight here, and slept for almost 9 hours which is unheard of for me. The bed was super comfy, and the room was well equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful and welcoming. The food is good, hearty. British pub grub dome really well. The chips were fluffy and crispy all at the same time. It's not gourmet but you aren't going to leave hungry.I visit Devon fairly regularly and will definitely be staying here again.

The first thing you should know about the Ring of Bells (the Ringers as it is known locally) is that it has been under completely new management since mid 2023; old reviews are simply no longer relevant! The Ring of Bells is set at the very centre of Chagford. There are four pubs here but the Ringers really is the social centre of the town with locals of all types enjoying the service, food and atmosphere of this brilliant Dartmoor pub. If you want a great meal, to meet local people, and to learn about real Dartmoor folk, I strongly recommend you pay the Ring of Bells a visit. If you're looking for a tasty takeaway they do that too and your children and dog will a be welcomed as warmly you.

Such a lovely place to stay. Very accommodating very clean. Staff and locals welcoming. Food was great. I did worry that there might be an issue with noise but I was wrong. The pub was really busy and this didn’t impact on our sleep. |Would recommend and will go back again.
