Didn’t stay at the Hotel, however my family and myself enjoyed a few nights eating and drinking here. Nice food, good service. Excellent choice of Ales, Lagers and Ciders. We were served mainly by Florence and Richard. Very friendly and good banter. Will definitely call in again. Thank you. Rikki Oak

I had a very comfortable stay for one evening while on a business trip.I upgraded to the double bedroom with the luxury bath, as I do enjoy a bath to unwind after a long drive. However, the water pressure was so low, it would have taken around 30 minutes - an hour to fill, which makes the luxury bath redundant as I had to, in the end, opt for the shower. The shower drain was filled with hair when I pulled it out to retrieve something - this does need attention as it gave me the ick when a string of soapy hair came out with it! There were also a few hairs in the sink. The bed was comfortable and the radiators heated up quickly. I would have liked a view in the morning, however with no windows, the condensation obscured it.A small desk and chair would have been useful to do some work. The full English breakfast was lovely. However, with no bins, I had to take the empty cereal box to my table when I decided to have a starter to the main course as it were… a very minor irritation. There was also a hair in the bowl which I noticed half way through!I didn’t see any bins outside either, so I had to nip behind the reception to dispose of something! The staff were friendly and beers nice, as was the dinner. This is probably the best place to stay in the area.

As a cyclist priority is cycle in a safe place undercover and this was awesome, allowed to leave it in unused conservatory, dry and locked in . Staff were great at reception, behind the bar and prices reasonable and at breakfast, full breakfast was plenty and tasty. Clean rooms and comfortable double bed, power shower was nice and good temperature. Large garden area. Definitely recommend it .

I went here for a drink and some food had my first drink person that served me really kind and helpful and then ordered some food with her costing me £50 which I did not complain about because it was good food but then I go and ask for a glass of water and another member of staff serves me and I ask for a straw and she goes " do you really need one?" "It's a free glass of water" the audacity! I have just spent £50 on food and you can't get me a straw!
