We could only get a couple of days away, after last year's experience we thought 2 days would be plenty to see if any improvement. …

Lovely stay for one night at the Royal Lion. We were greeted by Sharon who was so polite and friendly, it makes such a difference to feel so welcomed. There was Parking on site, a pool with sauna and hot tub. Room and en suite were very comfortable and clean, a nice welcome pack including good quality coffee and also nice smelling toiletries. Breakfast was really nice too.Overall we had a faultless stay.

back to the 70’s . Waited 40 minutes for our dinner , deconstructed into little pots . Pool was great but the cameras in reception showed one couple where the man was naked . |be aware ! Bed very comfortable, on to breakfast . …

Only stopped in for lunch and wish we had gone somewhere else.Ordered a vegetable tart, where the pastry was like rubber and the side salad tasted like polish. Paid £14.75. The roast side platter was not seasoned at all and generally had no flavour whatsoever, not worth the nearly £10 paid for it. The cauliflower cheese tasted almost raw, was not cooked properly with the cheese sauce just poured on. The roast potatoes didn’t taste roasted, but dipped in fat and tasted like leather. The caesar salad was far too salty, with too many anchovies added that don’t belong in it anyway. Awful for £15.75. Had coffees which were nice but still overpriced. Overall, we paid £50 when we should have paid £0.Also, a nice “optional” 10% service charge is added to the bill, with no mention by staff of taking it off.

We had a short stay here , what a lovely place to stay, full of character, a little gem, the hotel it is very close to the beach, the staff were very welcoming , polite , and attentive. We had booked an evening meal here, we could not fault the food , full of flavour and well presented, excellent service in the dining room .breakfast was really good, you have a choice of cereals, fruit ,pastries, juices, coffee, tea unlimited, and a choice of cooked breakfasts. Our room was called a comfy room, it was very clean and well equipped, comfy bed, a good night's sleep was had, spacious ensuite , shower hand and shampoo were provided including moisturizer. The hotel was quite and holds a very peaceful atmosphere. Morning strolls on the beach was bliss, the area was spotless clean,it was a pleasure to see no litter lying around, reflecting pride in the area. We can't wait to return here again for a longer stay, well done to the people of Lyme Regis and a big thank you to the Royal Lion Hotel staff , with the excellent service you provided making our stay most enjoyable.

My wife and I have just returned from a week at The Royal Lion Hotel and we must admit to being extremely disappointed with the room. We chose a deluxe room with sea view and a balcony.  …

We had lunch at the Royal Lion today. The pub is very welcoming and also dog friendly, We both had the pulled mushroom ciabatta and skin on fries and it was excellent. It's great to find somewhere that is dog friendly and also has vegan choices on the menu.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Plenty of choice, hot food cooked to order, staff lovely. Could not fault this aspect. However, we had a courtyard room which sadly was very stuffy so needed the window open, this meant that residents and non residents were sitting directly outside of our window which we had to have open for air. There was also an extractor type fan opposite which was running at intervals throughout the night therefore a disturbed sleep.Location was good however if we booked again would ensure we had a better room.Pool was a bonus and well organised for booking. An average stay. One other thing of note, this is a cashless business, personally do not agree, if all businesses did this cash would go, there should be a choice regardless of whether there are banks locally.
