Enjoyed a gorgeous Sunday lunch in this really characterful pub. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, with very attentive service.A good choice of local ales from the bar and a great selection of food on the menu.Various options for a traditional roast. A large portion of beef brisket came with loads of vegetables on the side. The hake with mussels and lobster sauce was savoured by those who had opted for it and the Thai curry was equally delicious.Deserts were equally impressive - with lovely home made ice creams. All in all, a great place to eat at and I would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely be returning!

Had a fantastic stay here. Lovely little village. Rooms have a great view over the river. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Food was superb. Breakfast spot on and homemade crumpets not something we had ever tried before. Rooms are clean with a decent sized en suite shower room (being ultra picky, could do with a refresh of mastic in the shower). No TV but decent WiFi. Family room had futons for children but probably not too comfy for older children. Will visit again!

We went to the Leaping Salmon on Saturday and found it to be just a great experience. We took the chance and asked if there was any of the lamb which was on the Internet but not on the menu when we went.Ben the owner came over and said we was in luck.Five of us out of 7 decided to go with the lamb and it was just great.I personally had the Calamari in chilli for starters which is the best I have had for along time.I wish Ben and the team all the best for the future. We will be back.

For several years we had talked about visiting the Leaping Salmon, but never actually found the time. What we have missed!!! We popped in for lunch and found a lovely warming fire, a very welcoming and friendly reception and a thoroughly relaxing atmosphere. My companion had the scallop pie, while I tucked into a lentil dhal. We shared a bowl of triple cooked chips and the whole was a delightful repas for a grey Saturday afternoon. We will certainly be back.

Really nice place, stayed for a few days. Rooms are above the bar with there own access. Food and prices are good and staff are super friendly. Chef comes out to check the food is ok. They make a special 50/50 burger I took my pic to late to use as I had eaten 2/3s 😄. Some really nice walks near by. The wild horses had babies when we was there end of May.

A great independent pub and the food was really tasty and all locally sourced which we loved. Draft beer/ale is also all local too. Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch overlooking the river and the service was excellent. Definitely coming back for round 2 as we didn't try the desserts

Excellent Sunday lunch here, the non-roast menu is also on on a Sunday. Good choice for vegetarians with both, and great fresh local beer from tavistock brewery. Really enjoyed the trip - only wish it was in Tavistock rather than a short drive away!

Review for the restaurant. We've eaten here a few times now and I'm always impressed. The menu is small which is nothing but a good thing as everything on it is perfectly executed. I've had a standout Sunday lunch, an excellent burger and some really delicious fish dishes. They've got a nice selection of local beers and ciders and a big menu of wine and other drinks. The atmosphere is cosy, particularly in the winter with the fire going. Though there is also a nice beer garden with views over the village. I've not had their brunch, but I think that's next on the cards.

We were recommended to eat here and were not disappointed. Great service (thanks Lu), great food (carpaccio starter, seafood linguine, hake). Also accommodating with changing the menu, interesting organic wines and lovely that the chef came out to chat with us. 5* experience and good value for money. Thanks 😊
