A budget hotel, with a really friendly welcome. We enjoyed the food, our dogs were very welcome too and our room was warm. Nothing was too much to ask and they worked hard to make us happy. Amazing views to enjoy, good walks near by and good car parking at the hotel.

We had a fantastic time and was even upgraded for free last minute. The gentleman we spoke to behind the reception was exceptional. We are very happy with our stay. Breakfast was included and cooked very well.

We enjoyed our 2 nights stay at The Moorland Hotel. All staff were amazing and attentive. The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious and we highly recommend. We arrived by bicycle. The manager allowed us to store them securely inside the hotel. We had a lovely view from our room, but found the room outdated.Mike and I felt relaxed in this hotel, which is not the case in others we have stayed. If we come to the Dartmoor National Park again in the future, we would definitely stay here again.

Very welcoming excellent staff. Amazing views over the sea in the distance (it felt more like a very posh hotel overlooking the med!), and you are right inside Dartmoor National Park. Excellent food, and all our needs catered for. …

This is an old hotel, and it's in need of renovation. It's a fantastic location and while I only ate breakfast in the restaurant, the food and service were good. And I overheard comments that other meals are good there, too. Some of the renovation is no doubt expensive and may take time. But small details also matter -- like a not-very-clean TV remote and the not-at-all-clean blinds in the bathroom. I heard that there's new management over the last year or so, so hopefully they will be able to make great progress. It definitely could be a really great place to stay ...

Beautiful location. I would say the hotel needs a bit of updating as it was so boutique when we first went there and since it has been taken over it just needs a refresh. I hope they would keep it in the same style. The staff are brilliant. Friendly and helpful.
