Came for a birthday treat on a spa day package. Really lovely spa facilities. Great treatments by Vicky who was absolutely lovely. Staff in the reception area and in The Blue Tiger were very welcoming. The girls who served us our food provided excellent customer service. A wonderful location and a beautiful venue. Highly recommend-thank you for a wonderful day. (The only slight improvement could be the size of the changing rooms as these just felt a bit cramped and busy.)

We stayed as a couple, who were visiting relatives in the area. This was a perfect base and also within easy reach to Torquay and other surrounding areas. Thank you to Ellie for arranging such a lovely, spacious room. …

We visited the spa today for my wife's birthday gift. It was outstanding first off front of desk was very welcoming and friendly. The ladies doing the back treatment were very professional and made us very relaxed. After we went into the spa it was one of the best we have been into and we have been to alot of spas. The food was also excellent and the chef and bar staff were brilliant. We will definitely be back again. Also the prices are so reasonable compared to other spas and you get less for it.

The staff at Islington were second to none and made the whole stay brilliant. The spa was quiet (we went in low season) and relaxing, and being nestled in Dartmoor gave plenty of opportunities to explore. We also made use of the lounges at the front of the hotel to play board games on a particularly rainy day.

A real home from home.We stayed here for a family celebration, and were made to feel completely looked after. The rooms were very comfortable, with a range of little extra touches (like home made flapjacks every day), the breakfast in the restaurant was generous and very tasty - you just have to be careful not to eat too much of it! The spa is a great bonus, and location overlooking Hay Tor spectacular. Service was also excellent. A special name check for Ellie, Holly and Abbie for whom nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to all at the hotel for making it a very special stay.

We stayed at the Ilsington in mid August 2024 and throughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very clean and beds very comfortable to sleep on.The swimming pool and spa facilities, and gym, are excellent as we are regular gym users and swimmers. I didn't manage to get a spa treatment appointment - so would advise you book well in advance if you want to get one!The food is very nice. We had one picky eater, and a nut allergy, and the hotel was very nice about catering for our needs. There is plenty to do in the area, despite the weather being not-great this summer! We went hiking on the moors, shooting at a local air rifle range and there is pony/ horse riding near by.
