We ate here twice as we were staying up the road. Great value food, big portions, tasty. £37 for 2 mains and 2 double Jameson's. Stick to the classics - lasagne, fish and chips and burger were great, tapas wasn't. Friendly service and a proper locals feel.

Traditional pub in small village on edge of Dartmoor. Comfy room, best night's sleep I've had for a while. Good menu with veggie options. Heated outdoor pool just up the road.

We decided to visit Buckfastleigh after doing family research that indicated my husband had ancestors from this area. We visited as part of our trip to England from Canada. …

We went to the Globe Inn, in Buckfastleigh for a Sunday roast lunch. It was most delicious with lots of trimmings. I had the belly pork, with chicken. It came with cauliflower cheese, broccoli sweed and carrot mash, stuffing balls, Yorkshire puddings, lovely roast potatoes and spiced red cabbage, with lashings of gravy. All washed down with a great pint of on tap Thatchers Gold and all very well priced. They had some delicious looking desserts, but unfortunately I was beaten.

The food is absolutely bang-on - the chef, Andy, makes a top scran. 10/10. We had the hunters chicken, cheesy chips and onion rings. Best we've had

Very 'local' local pub, dingy and sticky, when we visited most beers were off and the few that were OK ran out quickly. Can bring in your own food when the kitchen is closed which seems often.
