Greeted by the stink of urine from the public toilets, I was shown to a room upstairs which smelt badly of drains from the en suite. …

Lunch was really great, staff were very friendly and helpful and made sure our drinks were full! This is a proper English pub which is what we were after coming from Australia. Even the decor and the atmosphere was very English, love it. Thank you

Lovely little pub with lots of character and friendly locals. Travelling on my own this room was perfect for my needs, and at a great price too. I’d happily stay again, and try the food too as one of the locals said it was great.

Amazing room, I loved staying here. Bed was super comfy and it was conveniently located and very nicely decorated. However I wish they had more options for people with dietary requirements! I wasn’t able to eat there at all due to being vegan, so I missed out on a fun breakfastBut other than that, really recommend :)

We stopped for dinner on way home from Cornwall, there were 8 of us in total, the young lady behind bar was extremely friendly and helpful. The food tasted delicious, out of 8 meals there wasn't 1 complaint, all plates were cleared, small children's play park in back garden too

I’m not rating about the rooms as I didn’t stay in the rooms at the Inn but I’m sure they’re very nice and comfortable. The staff displayed nice service.Reason for the low review was based on food, absolutely awful!Over cooked, over fried, supermarket quality taste and school dinners display. Very disappointed as we travelled far to attend a ceremony.Food was a massive dissatisfaction and disappointment.

Four adults stopped here for lunch.Absolutely awful service and food. We ordered one of our party ordered mussels which was a special on the menu. When the waitress delivered a plate of food for one of our other party she told us the cook was running around panicking because she’d never cooked mussels before! Half the mussels weren’t opened (so off) and dish sent back. All the other 3 plates of food arrived about 10 mins apart. One of our party ordered full breakfast and was advised cook didn’t know how to cook scrambled egg and when plate arrived the beans on the plate were cold. The other party order fish and chips advertised with tartar sauce. There was no tartar sauce and when we asked for it the waitress rudely said you didn’t ask for it.The other party ordered pie with onion gravy. There was hardly any meat in the pie and no onions in the gravy. Finally to top it off they tried to over charge us by £30.Would NEVER use this place againIt also looked dirty and had ripped seats and dirty tables and yet they claim on they’re sign they are the best pub in Devon!
