Excellent standard of hotel and enjoyable stay. Ideal setting just off the M5 with outstanding views.Room was excellent nice and clean. The bed was super comfy! The toilet paper was of a low standard, which was disappointing as the room was pricey. Would recommend.

Food is OK but nothing special, basic bar menu on the 8th floor. Service was a bit odd with cutlery thrown on the table but our main waiter was friendly enough. Bar upstairs was freezing but they did turn the air con off when asked.Location is very convenient to m5 (not in town)

On the plus side, clean and great views from restaurant. On the not so good:-TV confusing and only ended up with a black screen- exorbitant parking fee of £12 per night- chaotic breakfast layout including only one working coffee machine causing blockage to hot buffet- never had a chef refuse to do poached eggs- staff a bit unengagedWouldn’t return

Faulty Towers springs to mind when I now think of this hotel…. Minus the laughs. Rooms were spotless and the bed was comfortable however the service at the bar and restaurant were horrendous and the food was cold. We stayed for two nights last week and there was a very obvious lack of leadership and management in the bar/restaurant. No one knew what to do and no one knew how to serve a drink! Several staff behind the bar were very obviously not experienced, but I do not fault them …. This is a management issue. I have never witnessed such a fiasco as a bar full of customers tried to get a drink with many waiting in excess of 30 mins for a drink. There was a man in a suit walking around …. Seemingly oblivious to the chaos. It was unbelievable and I felt extremely sorry the staff.

Spent 3 nights here on business. Very nice spec room. Comfortable bed and black out curtains. Used the small gym which was great and convenient after work when away from home - not lots of equipment but enough and of good quality. Would stay here again no problem

Although the room was spotless the one thing that bothered me was no toilet brush.when the reI’m was cleaned the toilet was neglected. The bar was significantly overpriced, the continental breakfast was sad. The cheese tasted like plastic and the 2 (only 2) cold meats were not far off. The restaurant was closed, which was not advised at booking and 2 of the 3 elevations were out of order. The staff were friendly and parking was not a problem.

Upon check in, you’re asked to prepay for full English breakfast for £12 each day of your stay. Although a lovely idea, a full breakfast for a weeks stay is overwhelming. There are no other options for breakfast, not even coffee or tea, or coffee in the rooms. Just microwave oatmeal.Although the guest rooms would have been comfortable for a night or two, the comfort level is low for two people. The rooms are small for Americans who are used to space to move about. The furniture is not comfortable in the lounge areas. Business groups overwhelm the public areas with meetings, moving furniture etc.The water pressure wasn’t strong enough to take a quick shower or wash longer hair. There is no other restaurants close by, no food stores, etc., and walking to the train is about a 15 minute walk. Taxi to the Quay and City Center is £15-20.The reception staff is perfect. The housekeeping was very good. Always clean and fresh.8th floor is a perfect view of Devon and the mouth of Ex. I wouldn’t say this is a family hotel. We’ve seen a lot of business meetings and gatherings. No places to really run and play. There is a long walking trail with train stations all along the way. It’s about £2.50 to Downtown. Taxi is worth the convenience for us.

Quite a new property, nicely designed, but they were clearly understaffed. Not upto the normal Courtyard standard.First, we can cover what's good about the property: the 'family room' unit is a good idea because you get 2 interconnecting rooms as a default (and at a fair price). The rooms are large and the shower was fantastic. On the downside, the hotel's service level is poor because they're understaffed. Two of the three lifts were permanently out of service. The Views restaurant was underwhelming, in fact even the soup was cold. They shut the front door in the late night (weird) and then have to buzz in visitors and guests. My daughter stood out there for 10 mninutes before calling me to get them to let her in.And finally, if I'm going to stay at an out of town hotel, I shoudn't have to pay for parking!

I’ve repeatedly had terrible experience with the in-house restaurant, The View, here. They served me vegan patty burger twice after I ordered a vegetarian patty burger even though I informed the waitress I can’t have vegan and they informed me it’s vegetable/mushroom and beetroot patty. Thankfully I didn’t have any soy allergies otherwise I would’ve been lying dead in my room! They also doesn’t do room service (yes, but they’re apparently a 4-star hotel) and they don’t have any service trays so you can’t easily take the food back to your room if you wanted to eat in and relax. The second time I came here, I tried to keep away from the burger but there aren’t too many vegetarian choices on the menu so I settled for the pumpkin ravioli and truffle fries. The pasta was half boiled (not even al dente) and some pieces were sticking together - seemed like it was made in a huge hurry. The fries tasted like they have been kept out from a day before and not even reheated properly! I informed the waitress about the fries and they just reheated and gave the same soggy day old fries back.Hugely disappointed with the food and the service at the restaurant. This is really not what I expected from such a big name like Marriott. Sigh.
