Liked: Beautiful and peaceful location near a forest, and not too far from local attractions and amenities. The firepit hire and logs were a great addition, as well as the washing up and shower facilities. …

Really enjoyed this campsite. We liked how the meadow was wild and so it meant all tents were nicely spaced out and you felt like you had a good amount of privacy. Good facilities. Only recommendation is to re-iterate the no noise after 10.30 rule. It wasn't too noisy but there were still people talking quite loudly around campfires until gone midnight - my pet hate about camping when people don't respect the no noise rules!

I left my stay at Wolford Wood with mixed feelings. The site itself is undeniably beautiful, with consistently clean showers and toilets. The grounds featured a lovely area for games, and loads of lovely farm animals. I liked that the campsite was not overcrowded and allowed you to chose where to pitch up.However, I did encounter some issues during my visit. One of the owners came across as rather rude and condescending. Upon our arrival, we were told off for driving at 6mph down the driveway, despite the recommended speed being 5mph. Additionally, we were advised to consider camping in the woodlands because 'you can hear a pin drop at night'. As we were a group of girls, it felt like there was the implication that noise would be an issue. This assumption felt prejudiced and left us with a negative impression, as we are experienced campers who respect the peaceful environment that others also come to enjoy.I also faced concerns regarding fire safety. I would strongly advise guests to ensure that any dying embers are fully extinguished. On two occasions, embers from a fire pit ignited the dry grass, resulting in a fire. In one instance, a fire was left unattended by another camper, which we had to extinguish with a fire extinguisher before it got out of control. Unfortunately, one of the fire extinguishers was non-functional. Thankfully, other campers were nearby to assist, and we managed to get a working extinguisher in time. When we informed the owners, while one responded very thankful, the other dismissively remarked that the website advises keeping water nearby. This lack of genuine concern for camper safety was disappointing.Overall, I unfortunately wouldn't come back to this campsite. I would recommend the male owner to improve his approach to paying customers and keep more fire safety equipment around the field rather than just in the kitchen space.

Liked: Great campsite. A very back-to-basics approach; really nice to get away from the modern world and enjoy a simpler existence for a couple of days. …

Decent campsite but massively overpriced. Would not stay again, would not recommend. The negatives- At least 1 rat living in the kitchen area (we saw it often).Edit in response to owner: it was a rat. We saw it clearly and often, ALWAYS in the kitchen area.- Site is poorly maintained. Dirty dishes at sink/rubbish on ground from previous campers in the kitchen area when we arrived, wasn't cleaned at all while we were there. You would think the owners would wander back there once a week to check those kinds of things? Lots of cobwebs etc.- 30 min to walk to the nearest bus stop (fire service college). Google maps says the bus stops at the Four Shire Stone but we checked and it doesn't. About an hour to walk to Moreton. Wouldn't bother anyone travelling with a car but it did affect us.- Kitchen is entirely outdoors. Toilets and showers are roofed but the doors are always open so the temperature and insect situation is the same as outdoors. Usually wouldn't bother us but for £20/person/night it's disappointing.- No rubbish bins. You are told to take it all home with you, including food waste. "Discard it at home" isn't a "zero waste" policy, it's an I-don't-want-to-pay-for-the-extra-collection policy. The waste is the same whether at the camp site or somewhere else.- On top of the per person/per night fees it's £16 to rent a fire pit + buy "a bag of logs" (the logs aren't in a bag at all, it's just a pile of logs in the woodshed). And then after paying that we had to find our own kindling.- Fire pits in the long grass with no designated areas for pits is a disaster waiting to happen. You guys should do something about that or one of these days that entire meadow is going to go up in flame. The positives- Beautiful meadow. Very scenic spot.- Closest site to Moreton train station.- Lots of tables and chairs.- Clean toilets. Showers separated with a curtain. We stayed for 2 nights in mid-September, we were the only ones there. Facilities are outdoor sinks, an electric kettle, electrical plug-ins in the outdoor kitchen area, toilets and showers. It's a nice enough campsite but they charge an enormous fee to stay there (£20/person/night), when all the other campsites in the region are £20-25/tent/night. Nothing to justify or earn this fee, it's a complete rip-off.

Fantastic site, laid back owners and beautiful surroundings. Toilets and showers of great standard, which important for my wife and sheltered area ideal for a few rain clouds that came over. Perfect base for visiting Diddly Squat Farm on Saturday and then we went to Fairford air show Sunday which was only a 40 min drive away. Would definitely stay here again as would the friends we had been camping with. Thankyou very much

Wolford Wood campsite is an idyllic setting and a perfect location for group camping BUT its facilities are shockingly poor for the amount the owner is charging per adult per night (£20 per adult per night) The long uncut grass is a nightmare to pitch and camp on. There should at a minimum, be cut camping circles within the long grass. I also think the site is falsely claiming eco status with respect to taking ALL rubbish home. If they were truly eco there would be recycling, solar panels and compost toilets. Rubbish is rubbish whether it goes in my bin or yours it's just a penny pinching exercise and actually less likely to be recycled this way. Both mornings of our stay the water went off in the showers for hours and after the park run there was no toilet roll left in the toilets. The owner who we found to be very rude couldn't even be bothered to check out the situation personally, he started asking one of our party to check out the plumbing and electrics with instructions over the phone, totally unacceptable. With 3 Adults in our tent at an overall cost of £120 for two nights this site has fallen woefully short, the stay was worth only £20 tops. Site not to be recommended.

Liked: Love the wild field for camping and so much space to be away from other tents. Really handy there was a communal fridge over by the showers and fire pit and logs were great.
