The hotel is situated in the west end of Edinburgh city. Beautiful building. We stayed in a family room. It was clean and spacious with high ceilings and beautiful views through the huge windows. Staff were helpful. We would love to see special offers and family discounts for an incentivised return visit!šŸ’ƒšŸ»

We had a large family room with a standard king bed and two single pull out beds and there was plenty of room. It was basic but comfortable. Small desk/dressing table which wasn't well lit..one small armchair and 6 hangers on the open shelving unit. Bathroom was basic and the shower was weak but usable to freshen up. Would not have wanted to attempt to wash my hair with it though. The problem we had was being at the front of the hotel with single glazed windows. The traffic noise was quite bad until quite late and started quite early, at 4.30 am, with deliveries and buses which woke us all up. Not ideal with young kids. The hotel had set up the kids beds quite close to the window as well and it did feel colder there compared to the rest of the room so we moved it round a bit to suit us.Being an old building access is up stairs and once in the corridors and lift are small/narrow. My youngest insisted on taking the stairs of which there were lots!Breakfast was basic with very little choice but is a fairly reasonable price and the kids ate for free. The bar area is small but we didn't have trouble getting a table although as stated earlier we were up early! The few staff we did have anything to with seemd friendly but customer service wasn't the strong point. On check out a woman took our key as I was about to put in the drop off box and I'd of at least expected her to say bye or ask if we'd had a nice stay but she didn't say a word. The breakfast staff didn't speak either apart from to say "that's fine" when you gave them your room number. To conclude. You know what you're getting. Cheap and cheerful accommodation and the location was fairly handy just on the edge of the city but close to attractions and transport links.

I would describe our stay as ā€œfineā€. The hotel is in a pretty building, but as with most travelodge it’s pretty basic. …

Staff are nice and that’s about it. Our room was tiny, I mean really tiny. my laptop has a bigger screen than the TV and the ultimate test - the shower. I can take anything if the shower is good but the truth is I could piddle more than the shower. I suppose you have to accept the extortionate price for the location but Travelodge really need to do better

Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for one night. Very affordable price, good location near major bus stops with easy access to the airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves were clean and fair in size.We did not have breakfast here, so I can't say anything about that! However there are also lots of great breakfast options nearby. Overall a great, affordable option.

I paid over Ā£200 for a single room with a tiny ensuite. It was meant to be Ā£69, but I'd booked the wrong date by mistake on my phone and they charged me Ā£200 to change it. …

Room was a good size. Nice and clean. Quiet. Good view. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Short walk to metro station, and then just £2 to the city centre.Door did not lock from inside (not good for a lone female guest). Restaurant too small to cater for the number of guests so be prepared to queue in the small lobby.

The hotel is in a quiet area but a short walk to some of the key locations in this part of the city. The staff at reception both for checking in and out weren’t overly friendly and there were quite a few issues understanding each other at the bar, but otherwise is a good value option for a short stay. The bar next to reception is small without much atmosphere, and there’s no dedicated member of staff so often you have to wait for them to finish other duties before they’re able to serve. Fortunately there are other options a short walk away. The hotel is an absolute maze and the never ending corridors beneath ground level are remarkable. My room was large and clean enough. It is starting to look a bit dated but it provided a silent nights sleep and was comfortable enough. There were usb sockets next to the bed but no plugs and housekeeping is by request only. For a no frills short stay I’d consider again in the future.

If you just want a room, and a bed, it’s fine. If you want comfort, pay more and stay in a nicer hotel. ||||Free WiFi is a lie. You get 30||Minutes free then you have to pay for super slow signal.

The hotel was in an excellent location in walking distance to all the main attractions. The room was very spacious and had everything you need. The bed was very comfortable and we had an excellent sleep
