We booked for one night’s stay going to Scotland and one night on our return. Following our initial departure, the campsite asked us to submit a review which we did. It was mentioned in our review about the farm dogs keeping us awake at night. The pitches are also quite narrow between the next van/motorhome but we were not that fussed for one night. The showers you pay for but you need to make sure the shower is turned off before adding the money. On our return trip we were told to confirm again of our arrival time that had to before 4pm otherwise they would cancel the booking. After we confirmed our arrival time via the link we asked if it would be possible to be away from the barking farm dogs, only to be informed by the campsite they had cancelled the booking as they could not guarantee the level noise from the dogs and did not appreciate our initial review. To write a review is a personal viewpoint of their experience, and if the owner does not appreciate feedback, don’t ask the customer to write one.

Nice litte campsite with a cafe on site, where I stayed while motorcycle camping the border region. The center of Moffat is only a short walk away. All in all a pleasant stay, only the showers gave me a hard time.Water pressure was kind of low and it took about 3 min to get warm. Meanwhile a timer is running, that goes faster, depending on the water temperature, which you can't check from inside the shower though. I was fast, but has to be a pain in the butt, if you were fully soaped up and time runs out.If possible, I'd have that changed.

I recently tried to book a stay at this campsite (Green Frog Moffat), and the experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. When I called to make a booking, I was told that I had to book online. Despite my attempts, the website wouldn't let me complete the booking. After trying again and facing the same issue, I called back to explain the situation, mentioning that I had just spoken to them a few minutes earlier. Shockingly, the owner hung up on me!This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable. It shows a clear lack of respect and customer service. If this is how they handle booking inquiries, I dread to think how they treat guests during their stay. I strongly recommend finding another campsite that values its customers and provides the basic courtesy of polite and helpful service. Avoid Green Frog at all costs! I had to give it one star to leave the review other than that they would have got nothing.

Stayed at the Green Frog for 4 nights in the circular area suitable for caravans with awnings. The fact our car had to be parked across in the car park and not next to the van was a definite no for us. However looks a great stop over for motorhomes and is a good price. Unfortunately it was spoiled for us with the dogs in yard next door barking on and off all night. Obviously nothing to do with the Green Frog but could affect any repeat business. Others we spoke to commented on this. Had to sleep with ear plugs so remember to take some. Won’t go back.

I am writing to address the concerns you raised regarding my previous communication. It seems there has been a misunderstanding about my intentions, and I want to clarify my position.Firstly, I want to emphasize that my goal is not to damage your reputation but to bring attention to specific issues I encountered during my communication with you. It is important for businesses to receive constructive feedback to improve their services, and my comments were meant to serve this purpose. The reason there are two posts the same is that I tried to post the same review on trip advisor and have obviously made a mistake and posted it on your website. Nothing more. Thank you for bringing this to my attention and I will make sure I post it on to other sites. I am quite happy to take this up with whoever you reported it to. Addressing these issues can help enhance the overall quality of your campsite and ensure a better experience for future guests.I trust that you will consider this feedback with the seriousness it deserves and take appropriate steps to address the concerns raised. I look forward to seeing improvements and hope that future guests will benefit from a better experience.

Edit: Definitely weren’t laughing and joking with staff. They were too miserable.Arrived and went to reception. Gave my partners name to be told we didn’t have a booking. showed the email and was told the booking was in my name! No apology. The campsite was ok, facilities were ok. Barrier locked at 4pm and we weren’t given the code. We weren’t aware until another camper arrived at 3.45 and barrier was down. The CCC site across the way was full. This site was empty I wonder why? I should have read reviews. Definitely won’t be back

Nice wee campsite. Quite a lot of surrounding noise, dogs barking in the night. We looked forward to breakfast in the cafe but were very disappointed. Deep fried everything, please go into town for breakfast or cook your own.

We used a ehu hardstanding pitch without awning. Because of lack of awning the spacing between vans is about 2-2.5m so closer than we're used to but not the end of the world. Our pitch was located next to the site boundary with some kind of work yard next door which generated quite a bit of noise during the afternoon. Throughout the two nights there was a dog (or dogs) in an adjacent field barking constantly at all hours, which prevented a decent sleep. I totally appreciate that some of these issues are out with the control of the campsite owners, however this is a subjective review of my experience at the campground.

Refused entry by strange person.First said there was no room for a roof tent(small NV200 van). When I said I’d sleep in the van she started the process of registering me then looked out of the window and refused me because I have no windows on the side. I then left but returned after seeing a van without a window, she then said she’d let me stay then all of a sudden changed her mind again saying she didn’t like my attitude 😂. Looks like a converted car park and there were only about three vans on site anyway. Very strange , never encountered this before.😂There was no abuse, no slamming on of brakes just dumbfounded that I was being refused.I have windows on the rear of van btw, but the strange person then refused because they didn’t open. I think the number of 1 star reviews confirms the bad attitude of the owners of this site. Don’t worry I won’t be returning or recommending, see other reviews of sites I stayed on that week and maybe learn.😁Challenged???? 😂 I asked if it was their van that’s all😂. I did notice they had a window on the other side.😂Ha ha, put the cctv up on line, I’ve got nothing to hide. As mentioned before your amount of 1star reviews tells a different story😂

Never ever again will I ever come back to the green frog the one thing I wanted to do here on separate occasions was to fly fish signs on path says 8am till such a time so was left very disappointed as I want to get a fish in before leaving to do nc500 come back to day asked out the fishing was told to look so asked what time it closed bear in mind just driven 5 hours to get here for 2.30pm so I could get a fish in as got to leave at 7am to be told we close at 3pm what a dam joke of a place and I’ve bailiff fisheries and you never turn a paying customer away and all I asked for was if you’d stay open till 4pm no you say I want to go home ffs a walking day for you is 5 hour but you charge people for 8hour fishing that makes no sense what a total embarrassment of a place . ) ( then my I make a strong suggestion to you by sorting your website out and changing the signs and being more clear but to turn away 2 anglers for an hour at the cost of 2 hours is ludicrous we at I bailiff would never ever do that what you did for the sake of an hour only thing we do say to people is no night fishing with out prior arrangements . And if an angler wants to stay past are closing time we charge the extra on an evening ticket not turn them away and in winter are opening times are 8am till 7pm weather were busy or not but from what I’ve experienced ate your place is no wounded there is a lack of customers if you think a a working day is 9.30am till 3pm as I stated I drove 5hour to you yesterday for what to be disappointed . Disgusting in my opinion I told you straight that I was very disappointed and I will safely STATE ILL DEFINITELY NOT COME BACK OR RECOMMEND YOU TO ANYONE UTTER EMBARRASSING BEHAVIOUR FROM YOUI’d be very very careful with what your saying pall trust me your an out and out liar and I can 1000% prove your a liar I was in Kirkby Lonsdale @ 9:20am this morning so get your facts right before you continue as are motorhome had to be back and unpacked for 10am we left your site at 7:20am and as for in a huff be very careful before next liar out if your mouth will see you land legal action I clearly stated I was very disappointed with you and I explained that I bailiff lakes !!! Caution this man or lady are a disgrace very unprofessional and are out and out liars don’t think they no what a working day is just out and out lazy and disrespectful people !!! People only need to read all your replies and see how unprofessional you are and clueless and how dare you lie and misinformer people . Even if I’d of left at 10am you was that lazy you do not open lake up till 9:30am and why would someone pay for 2 hour fishing for half hour and by time set up that leaves 20 minutes fishing then by time you’ve paid and walked over to lake that leave you 10 minutes to fish for cost of 2 hour are you that clueless and naive ? But trust me get your facts right before you actually accused a person that’s not true and I promise you next lie from you will land you legal action for defamation the one thing you can do is publicly apologise for your lies and your unprofessional behaviour
