Fantastic, welcoming, comfortable, spotlessly clean hostel. Run by a friendly, welcoming team who know their stuff.Very well equipped self catering kitchen which has more equipment than you could possibly need.I didn't have the breakfasts but the ones I saw looked excellent and very good value for money.Loved the history of the place and a nice touch that the rooms are manned after the land girls that lived in them during its original incarnation.I had a nosy in one of the shepherd huts and they looked like a lovely option too.

Everyone was so lovely, the staff and guests alike. The huts are small but very comfortable, the beds in particular, and the heater kept us warm despite the cold temperatures outside. The kitchen is big and well equipped with enough space to store and cook your own food. The bathrooms get cleaned daily and the outdoor one is heated. There are plenty of places to visit within 20-60 minutes from Wooler so you won't run out of things to do but the cosy and spacious lounge also offers many kinds of entertainment from games to books and chats with the other guests. Overall a great place to stay!

Second visit in a year, and we'll definitely be back again in future. Friendly independent hostel, love the historical snippets and individual stories from the building's original use as a Land Girls base. Large self catering kitchen, fairly well equipped [did bring our own baking dish this time to be sure of having something the right size that would go in the microwave as well as the oven], and walking distance to several eateries if that's preferred. Very responsive and helpful when we realised on getting home that we'd managed to leave something behind [postable!]

Hostel Manager very welcoming & friendly. Our private ensuite room was clean and the shower was excellent.A very well equipped clean self catering kitchen with lots of storage space for food. The breakfast baps were excellent and very good value for money. The hostel is in a superb location, a few minutes walk from the centre of Wooler and with walks from the door into the Cheviot hills.Hostel is highly recommended.

Great friendly spot. I intend to consider hostels more often going forward. Excellent welcome and service. Staff went out of the way to be accommodating. Great clean spot and facilities first class. Real close to centre of town snd facilities. I really need to rethink my accommodation strategy going forward.

We stayed in one of the shepherd's huts. It was very well equipped; comfy beds even a torch for heading to the bathroom at night! Very friendly and helpful staff and the communal kitchen and lounge had everything you could want. I'd definitely stay here again!

A great hostel, personal service from friendly team. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable beds although I would have liked an extra pillow. The best bit is that the other guests are happy to chat ( in my experience) and so you feel welcomed.

I used the hostel as I needed to overnight in central Wooler. Served my purpose and was so easy to book a vacancy in a dormitory. Wendy on reception was most friendly and helpful to me, a stranger in town and to YHA. I didn’t use the kitchen facilities but I could see others were and seemed more than adequate, however, I can vouch for the showering and washrooms being bang on. All in all a good experience in a clean, friendly and well run establishment.
