We went to lay my Nan to rest and scatter her ashes where she was born and my partner randomly chose this hotel and it was one of the best decisions he made. …

A beautiful step back into Victorian environment, with all mod cons. Anne Marie in the restaurant was a highlight for every meal time, with engaging chat and great service. Well done to the kitchen staff who produced great evening and breakfast meals.,defo worth a visit for the locals.

We booked late and stayed only one night. The receptionist was friendly and allocated us our room. We were pleasantly surprised with our room which had nice furnishings and was a good size. After that it all went downhill. …

33 of us visited for high tea while on a bus outing, we were welcomed by friendly staff who could not do enough for us. The meal was exceptional with all dietary requirements honoured without fuss, food was freshly cooked even although we were 15 minutes late due to circumstances outwith our control. Would highly recommend for any bus outing.Thank you again for making a great ending to a lovely day out.

I was taken away for a night. Arrived at reception, checked in, the lady was pleasant enough, however, having been in the role myself, felt she could have been more personable. Not a complaint though, as I say, pleasant enough. …

A very comfortable hotel close to the centre of Montrose overlooking a park. Our rooms were in the newer wing and were spacious and comfortable - good beds, blackout curtains. Good food in the restaurant, although service slow even though it didn't seem that busy. Breakfast excellent. Staff very friendly and willing to help.

Hotel looks a bit tired on the outside but inside is warm and welcoming. The food was fantastic and the portions huge, too big for us. The staff were fantastic, couldn’t do enough for us, especially the lovely bar man/waiter Reece who kept us amused. Our room 21 was very spacious with a lovely bathroom.

We received a warm welcome at this dog friendly hotel in Montrose. Our room was in an annexe off the main building and was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. …

Rooms were nice but the section we were in was added to the original building and was not very sound insulated, lot of noise at night from other rooms and creaking floors in the halls. Breakfast was good but obviously trying to save money on it, only half slice of black pudding and haggis and only one sausage.
