1st time we have been for lunch. Would definitely return. Staff friendly and food really tasty and good value for money. We both had haggis for starters which was delicious. Hubby had Steak pie and I had Stovies which was also delicious (packed full of meat).

We had an unexpected overnight stay in this area, and a family room at the Lovat Arms was the only place available. But it was excellent! …

It was a mixed experience on arrival the room was not the one requested, with the help of a chamber maid the correct room was obtained. This room had a number of faults such as a bed side lamp couldn't be used as there wasn't a socket. This and a few others that could be sorted simply. Apart from this the bed was very good and got a good night's sleep. The evening meals were pretty good with good friendly service I didn't like the faults but they wouldn't stop me returning for another visit.

We spent two nights and were quite happy with our stay, having lost out on all local camping sites around Inverness. The room was everything one would expect from a historic Scottish hotel, the breakfast was reasonable and the pub was enjoyable with some locals having an evening of it. Yes I would recommend a stay if one is in the area.

My wife and I were going to a festival nearby hence the reason we stayed and it was amazing. The room was beautiful and clean - well done to housekeeping! The breakfast was delicious with plenty choice buffet style. …

Booked a dinner for two in the restaurant. Service was terrible. Starters came before our pre meal drinks had been served. Waited over 20 minutes from ordering to drink appearance. …

Stayed here for one night Friday 30th August. DON’T stay in room 10!!!Above the bar area which was noisy until after midnight plus a security light is above the room window which shines down onto the bar side door where all the smokers & vapers gather. Even with the curtains closed the light was streaming into my room. I was also awoken with an Irish guest singing Irish songs as he trying to find his room (obviously had one too many)In the morning I explained my experience to the lady at check out. I was told she would get a manger to contact me with regards to my issues. I followed this up after no contact after 2 weeks with an email. No reply from this email contact either after being promised some form of contact on check out.I travel the whole country with work and stay in various hotels. Stayed in Newcastle Travel Lodge past weekend for less than half the costs of the Lovat and it knocked spots off my experience…….I definitely will not recommend this hotel and stay clear of ROOM 10!

The rooms are traditional Scottish decor which I really liked, however the bathrooms drastically need updating. They're functional but the showers need replacing (the shower unit is very loud) and the toilets take an age to refill and the flushes aren't very powerful. The rooms could also do with a fan as they get really hot in the summer. They're dog friendly and there's plenty of parking outside the hotel and in the village. Service off all staff was great.

As last year there was someone confusion about the booking I made by phone a while ago. Luckily I had an email confirmation, otherwise they would have charged me double the agreed price. The room was a good size but a bit tired. My sheet had a hole in it. It was good value for what I paid but I'd have been disappointed if I'd paid double. Not the hotels fault but the experience was not improved by a drunk trying to get into my room at 1.20 am.I've been staying at the hotel once a year for many years but with the new prices this will probably be the last time sadly.
