I recently stayed at Travelodge, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The moment I walked into my room, I was greeted by an overwhelming stench of mildew and uncleanliness. The carpets were stained and sticky, and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. There were visible hairs in the tub and on the towels, which is just unacceptable. The furniture was old and worn out, with broken pieces that made the room feel even more unwelcoming. I tried to complain to the staff, but they were indifferent and unhelpful, showing little concern for my discomfort. To add insult to injury, despite the horrible experience, I only received a small refund after my complaints. It felt like a slap in the face considering how awful my stay was. I was genuinely looking forward to this trip, but Travelodge ruined it entirely.Save your money and sanity—stay far away from this hotel! There are plenty of better options out there.

Stayed here overnight while we were in Edinburgh to see a show at The Playhouse theatre. Hotel is in a brilliant location, about a 15-20min walk from theatre/surrounding shopping areas and the lovely area of Stockbridge. …

I stayed in a twin room with my sister. we chose Travelodge as they provide 2 single beds as opposed to a double and a single sofa bed. The room does feel basic but was clean the beds were very comfortable, I got a hairdryer from reception on arrival and if you want fresh towels or the bins emptied you just need to hang the sign on your door before 11am. The trick to using the electronic key card don't take it out too quickly, which it tells you on the card, and they work every time. The location is perfect to be able to walk everywhere, the staff were freindly and helpful we checked out at 9am but our train wasn't till 10pm and we were able to leave our luggage to collect in the evening. We will use this Travelodge again on our next visit to Edinburgh

Hotel room was reasonably clean & location good, but amenities were barely adequate; no extra hangers (only 4 for 2 people, & no more available), only 2 towels & no mat, inferior tea, no water glasses. Desk staff not always available or helpful. Overpriced for what is offered.

Great location for buses tram etc restaurants and pubs. No cooked breakfast but continental in a box to go rooms clean and tidy. Ample tea and coffee more can be got at reception. Only problem I found was the constant blinking red light on smoke alarm kept me awake a bit. But got used to it after a while. And the noise of the bins being emptied early morning. Overall though a good spot to rest up.

Great location, very standard rooms, small bathroom with shower only.Staff very friendly. Only issue we had was cleaners entering room when we had booked for a late checkout. Nipped out and when we returned they had stripped the beds and taken the towels over an hour before we were due to checkout.

Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff. Location good and nice and quiet.||Was disappointed that the breakfast i ordered was actually a take away box - my fault but i don’t think it was clear that there wasn’t a restaurant here. …

Not great for early / quiet sleep. My room faces the back alley of restaurants and they opened the room windows for ventilation, which just means all the oil and fumes from restaurants fill the room, making it smell. I had to close the windows and open the doors for actual ventilation. This isn't one off, checked with the staff and it's the same for all rooms facing the same direction.Open-able windows also mean it's not soundproof at all, even when it's closed. There were noises with the bins and glass bottles toppling from evening to midnight.I woke up at 1.30am to some kind of tribal drum beats and shouting, so disorienting that I thought I was on an exotic island. I needed to wake up at 4am to catch an early flight.Could still be worth if price/ night is low (slightly above 100 for me), room is normal in other aspects. But if it's >150 I'll definitely stay elsewhere.

Great location but the room was small and there was no AC so we had the window open and there was a garbage truck right behind us for over an hour early in the morning. We enjoyed the breakfast box we purchased.
