Fantastic location, as it was very easy for us to get there. The hotel had a very cosy feel to it when we first arrived. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice with big windows viewing the village. Breakfast was included with the rooms, which was delicious with lots of choice. It was also great because we had a couple vegetarians with us, so were able to get the veggie breakfast. Thank you for having us, hope to come again.

A lovely family run hotel in a quiet location. Was working in Lockerbie and this was a stones throw away. Host were very polite and friendly. The room was extremely spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was enormous with a excellent shower and bath tub was very big. Clean and a well presented room. Bar was fully stocked and breakfast was great. Would recommend staying here. I believe the building is 300 years old and has alot of character. Thanks again

This place has recently changed hands and at the time of writing does not do evening meals or have a bar. (These are opening soon)||The rooms are clean and a lot newer than the rest of the place. …

Stayed here Friday 20th September 2024 for one night. The new owners Adrian and Kath warmly greeted me upon arrival. Promptly checked in by Katie and Adrian, who I already know in his previous career, showed me to my room - oh my, what a lovely room with huge shower, bath and twin sinks. Bed was very comfy, spacious bedroom, I was well impressed.Pub part at time of writing opens at 4pm and went to 8.30pm, subject to change and tried a new lager with Adrian and Steve behind bar.Had a nice coffee and cake, an Ecclefechan Tart, bit like a mince pie with almonds - delicious.Adrian and Kath very attentive.Had a game of Pool with Brian, a regular.Went back to room, had a lovely shower and went back downstairs around 7.15 until 8pm, then went to room to watch tv.Breakfast - I opted for the Full English, whilst waiting had some mixed fruit and yoghurt, with a mug of coffee.Toast and jams on offer too, though didn't have any.Brekkie arrived and it was wonderfully presented, piping hot, plentiful and I enjoyed it very much.Went to finish packing, then checked out, on way out thanked Kath and Adrian in the kitchen for looking after me and I shall return, highly recommended and look forward to staying either another night, perhaps 2 nights next time.

I was cycling from Yorkshire to Glasgow and after riding 140 miles non-stop against a driving cold north wind and rain I stopped at a bus shelter in Eccelfechan for some rest bite. …
