Excellent meal. Half lobster was small but lovely. Scallop ( +£10) was huge and beautifully cooked. Staff were really nice. Only Negative. The wine @ £10 a 125 ml glass. I mean, why would you do that, a real own goal.

My wife and I had a fantastic lunch here. We took advantage of the lunch menu offer and the lobster lunch deal. All course were delicious, the only one that wasn’t quite as good was the strawberry desert which just don’t pack as much flavour as everything else we had. It was still nice though.

We had an excellent meal at Haar last night and the service was exceptional. Stand out dishes were the pumpkin and the venison, but every one was memorable. We will definitely return and definitely recommend.

The food and service were delightful, but the service definitely stood out. Everyone was very welcoming and gave great customer service. My fiancé and I enjoyed the food. Just prepare to seat after your reservation because it is more intimate. We had the first 3 courses/welcome courses an hour after our reservation so that the chef can start the experience and walk us through everything before sitting at our table. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

Comfortable, clean, compact room, with a great shower facility. Although small, it had everything we required for our stay. The bed was super comfy and the towels and bathrobes were well sized and fluffy. Hotel is in a prime location for exploring the town attractions, sea front and, of course, the golf course.

This is a gastronomical restaurant with hotel rooms attached. So it’s a not obvious that it’s a hotel - but it is a gem . The rooms were small(ish) but we had a view to the sea, and they’re beautifully appointed. …

The food was good, but the dining experience was poor. We had a party of 8 and sat down at 6pm and still had not had the final pairing by 10pm. Unacceptable. The Pinot on one pairing was horrible and they replaced but charged us. Big miss. Very expensive and the experience didn’t match the price. Unless you have 4 plus hours to have dinner, they are better spots and better value.

My wife and I were running a bit late due to traffic and Martha accommodated us, whereas some restaurants would be a flat no. We had come from California and my wife was looking forward to lunch at Haar. The restaurant space was so peaceful, serene and relaxing. I really enjoyed the decor, and it would mean even more if you asked about the name Haar.Service: Martha is totally precious!! From the moment we walked in the door until we left, she was so welcoming, friendly, and her service was amazing without feeling like we were being hovered over. My wife loves espresso Martinis, and Martha’s Espresso Martini hit number one all time best. I can’t say enough about how welcome she made us feel. What a beautiful person. Often the wait staff can make or break a meal, and in this case she complimented our experience. The food; I don’t like beets, I loved theirs. I’m so so on lobster, I loved theirs. The food was excellent. My wife is a serious foodie, and she was not disappointed to have this meal half way around the world.I highly recommend Haar for lunch, and they have a real gem in Martha.

Haar is a very unique small plate, with several courses, restaurant. Substitutions and additions could be made in a few courses. Each item was sourced from Scotland farms or merchants. Food was delivered in an orderly manner except the last two courses. It appeared our waitress either forgot about us or the kitchen got backed up. Overall the food was good, some exceptional. With the price per person I felt all of the courses should have been exceptional.

Haar restaurant is certainly a unique experience. They offer a tasting menu which starts off at the chef’s table for a few apps, and then you are taken to the main dining area. Cozy feel. The dishes are full of surprises. And the “scroll” map of the menu is the absolute cutest thing. Pricey, but worth it here.
