My husband and I stayed at the Old Course Hotel in St. Andrew’s, Scotland and had a wonderful stay during a golfing trip to Scotland, made all the more memorable by this lovely hotel. …

Great location, overlooking the famous Old Course. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious.Unfortunately the service is poor. There was a 20 minute queue to get in to breakfast, despite there being plenty of free tables and a buffet. We had 2 dinners at the hotel, we're still chewing the beef. After dinner drinks took over an hour to arrive. I could go on but I think you get the gist.Overall, it's a great location and hotel but it's clearly lacking effective management, to address these basic service requirements.

Went for an early birthday treat for my hubby (special one) the staff were very accommodating, the rooms were beautiful, we never used the pool/spa facilities but they looked gorgeous. The food was lovely. Lots of events going on but no noise during the night, lovely and peaceful. Stunning views of the old golf course when having a drink / eating breakfast.

The Hotel made us feel extremely welcome for a 21st afternoon tea, reserving a lovely space. Service was fab. Unfortunately the afternoon tea itself left much to be desired. There were very few sandwiches, and these were dry at the corners. The deserts were not that great with the exception of the scones and clotted cream.

We chose to stay here as twelve months prior hubby had his 50th birthday trip here with three friends. He wanted to share the “home of golf” experience with me. …

This was the best hotel experience I have ever had. The staff was on spot with customer service and very friendly. The amazing breakfast is served in the most beautiful restaurant with views of the 17th green of the old course.  …

We don’t golf, but still really enjoyed this hotel. In pictures the impression is of a worn-out building, but when you arrive is it refreshingly well-kept and nicely situated, The food was very, very good. The service was excellent. And golf courses are beautiful. Plus now we can add to our brag list that we’ve had our car valeted by a guy in a kilt—and how many people can say that?
