Our room (and presumably other rooms) was far, far too hot and there was no air conditioning, despite a sticker on the window saying there was. It was uncomfortable to stay in the room - this really needs addressing. …

Location great and staff friendly. We left our luggage at the hotel before and after check in which was helpful. Bed was clean however rest of room was not. …

The building and rooms are looking a bit tired and shabby. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable beds. The Thyme restaurant menu could be expanded and made more exciting. Good breakfast but maintenance of the hot buffet needs greater attention. Very good value for money.

Great well priced food, great service, helpful staff, rooms well appointed & clean but heating/ventilation (initially) poor.Initial room window couldn't open (wood batten screwed Infront of handle) 28C (outside temp 15C). Returned to reception who swapped room for one with an opening window. They agreed there was a problem with the heating.Great central location

Great location for theatre and shops, the only negative comment I would make is we had a fixed overhead shower which was unsuitable. A female needs a hand held shower head to rinse the important little places, if you get my drift.Air con would have been nice but we managed with a fan. Oh and it says WiFi is free but I was charged for it.Overall very happy with our stay. I would book again.

A great location close to the Central Library & the Castlefield area of the city. The room was clean, comfortable and quite. Very competitive price & friendly welcoming staff. Plenty of restaurants & pubs close by, pick of the bunch for a pint is the Perveril of the Peak, terrific beer in an authentic Manchester boozer.

DO NOT USE!The only good thing about our stay at this hotel was the location. The hallways are ridiculously warm, which then transfers into the rooms which are far too hot. When you first walk into reception, it's great as the whole area is fully air conditioned, unfortunately that's as good as it gets! No rooms have air con, so they are stifling. Although the hotel does provide a single pitiful fan which helps to blow the very hot air around your room! The only way to get any air into the room is open the window.....which only opens a few inch's. However, that's enough for you to be able to hear the screeching of the seagulls all night as the hotel can't be bothered to install anti-nesting netting. For clarity, due to the lack of nets seagulls have nests in the rear of the hotel. As the parents are on the roof, they are calling each other as the youngsters can't yet fly from about 1am all through the night. My advice, for the money they charge, use a different hotel.Lastly, incase you're wondering. Yes we made a complaint and basically got the brush off!

A warm welcome. Great location. Staff was friendly. The bed was incredibly comfortable! The room was large enough for the two of us. The rooms was tidy but the carpets was stained. The window would not open more than an inch and two inexpensive fans were used to 'cool' the room. Air conditioning would have been nice. Yeah, I complained, but they just apologised. The warm room was uncomfortable. Unsuited for human habitation. No decent night's sleep.

All good. Nice and clean. We only had breakfast once, which was good. We did have a couple of nightcaps, which was fine. Not many people were in, which was a shame. The location was perfect for where we were going.
