Great location on the harbour with some history to the building - our room had a great view but I'm not sure all do. The welcome from the owner was warm and room facilities were good in the space available, including small table and stools, and Tassimo machine. Bathroom modern in decoration, clean with just traces of older sealant. Breakfast brought to our room, which was novel - fairly good quality, just a little overcooked on our one experience.

Don’t let all the fuss about this place being outdated fool you! Is it an old building? Yes! But the inside is perfectly up to date, and the rooms are lovely! Comfortable beds, AMAZING shower, spotlessly clean surfaces. And everyone gushing about the breakfast is hardly doing justice to the feast delivered straight to your room in the morning (on the cutest little cart, no less).Virginia and her husband (whose name escapes me, my apologies) were exceptionally warm and welcoming, and the do a fabulous job running the place. It’s also perfectly located and has nice views of the harbour, especially at sunrise. I enjoyed my stay here immensely, and the low price for such a lovely spot was the icing on the cake.

A little disconcerted by the appearance of the front door. Needn't have worried. Our room was spacious, very clean and had a super view of the harbour.Breakfast was excellent and generous and we had a wonderful assortment of tasty 'Border Bakes' biscuits in our room as well as a proper coffee maker (with pods including caffeine free) and tea making facilities. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Our host was friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend :-)

Positive points...friendly staff, comfy bed, quiet overnight, adequate shower, clean bedroom, accomodating of our dog, lovely big breakfast....I was still full 6 hours later! Not so positive. The B&B, outside of the bedroom looks like it needs a really, good spruce up and modernisation. However it is worth bearing in mind that this is a Bed and Breakfast, both of which were perfectly adequate for our one night stay before travelling on to Orkney. If you just want somewhere to lay your head, it will do fine.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a huge bed! The bathroom was not as clean as the rest of the room, a real shameThe coffee machine is a great idea, and the owners are very friendly and helpful.Breakfast in the room is very pleasant.I really hope that they can move the doorstop in the bathroom in room 4 though, as it is in just the wrong place, and I have returned with a broken toe!

We stayed in the double room room ensuit. Lovely hosts, an extremely comfy bed which gave us both a fantastic night's sleep. Lots of light in the room and a huge selection of biscuits, coffee and tea. Lovely breakfast which we ate at our window. I would definitely stay again. Not sure what other people were expecting, but for a BnB in a small town it was homely, accommodating and comfortable which was exactly what we needed!

Entrance dirty & unwelcoming. Bedrooms clean & comfortable. Steep internal staircase to bedrooms in attic - so the tasty breakfast was served in the bedroom. Triple room en suite has a very unstable shower cubicle . Adequate. Would not recommend & would not return.

This place was a mistake of a booking. From the minute we arrived we couldn't wait to leave. The over pervasive smell of stale grease greets you as you walk through the broken front door. We was shown to our room by the landlady who coughed all the way round showing us to our room. The b&b is way passed dated from the decor, bedding, and stains on the carpet brought to mind an episode of CSI. The mould in the shower and rust on the towel rail and toilet brush holder in the bathroom did not invite the use of the shower. We left as early as we could the next morning as breakfast served in your bedroom at the smallest of tables in the window was not a prospect we relished. The carpet in the stairway that leads you up to your room didn't look like it had seen a vacuum in a month of Sundays and the cctv on each floor gives me the idea that they have had a few non payers! As you say 'you live and learn' we will chalk this one up to experience, but an experience we wish never to repeat.
